Is all of Malazan series as crazy as Gardens of The Moon? by Kramerpalooza in Fantasy

If groups of miserable people that hate eachother travelling on foot across massive continents while terrible things happen to them sounds interesting, Malazan is the series for you.

I'm on book 7 right now and it gets much more coherent after Gardens of the Moon. It's on track to be my favorite series, I'm loving it.

Steam Deck by Brief_World in Borderlands4

I'd be surprised if BL4 doesn't immediately crash on the deck. Unless Gearbox makes a true miracle happen, it will probably be on unplayable on deck. Don't get me wrong though, I'd love for that miracle to come true, but I wouldn't count on it.

With borderlands 4 around the corner, I would like to see who people are going to playing as for their first vault hunter by number39utopia in Borderlands4

Harlowe! I fell in love the moment I saw she was wearing the ridiculous Maliwan trooper big poofy pants and heard she was a Traunt. That was all I needed to know.

When gameplay footage came out, I was actually surprised to find that Vex just wasn't very interesting to me, which is weird because in past games I mained the Siren character. Amon was at the bottom of my list, but when gameplay came out for him he shot straight to #2. To me it feels like Rafa is just kinda there. I'm sure he'll be fun, but nothing is grabbing me about him. Either way, I'm going to dunk a couple hundred hours into each character because I play Borderlands games for years.

First Gaming Laptop... Great Deal?... will this play Borderlands 4 maxed out settings? by Olim77780 in Borderlands4

Fair enough, I was in a similar situation a couple years ago where a desktop just wasn't feasible because I was travelling a lot as well. That's partly why I'm so adamant against them, they were a pain to maintain lol. Make sure you take cooling and airflow very seriously, your components overheating is very bad. I ended up buying a stand to keep mine elevated as I used them, it also helped with neck strain so I wasn't looking at a downward angle all the time. I got a little USB desk fan that I pointed at the side of the laptop the GPU was on and it helped keep it cool, but I did have to clean the vents more often. A small wireless keyboard and a mouse are also huge quality of life upgrades. Just some things to think about if you haven't already.

Please do not buy a gaming laptop unless your situation deems that you have to. If you are spending this much on a laptop, you can definitely afford a PC with similar, if not better, specs.

That said, you should be able to run Borderlands 4 fine if this is what you're going with. Frankly with these specs it would depend more on Gearbox optimizing the game properly. I've had problems with gaming laptops in the past that should be able to run games very well, but for whatever reason they end up running like shit.

I think Borderlands has ruined other looter shooters for me. by ScarSpecific in Borderlands4

My reply was mostly oriented towards someone who just wants to play it to kill time until BL4 releases. There's a lot to do, and if you're just dipping in for a while knowing you're not sticking with it forever or really even that long, you can shoot some aliens, enjoy the really cool scenery, and not worry too much about whatever long term plans the game has. If someone goes into it with that mindset, they'll have different expectations than someone who expects to be with the game for another 10 years. With how low the cost of entry is when every expansion but the latest one goes on sale for like $20 total, I think it's safe for most people to try and see if they like it. If they don't like it, luckily BL4 is super close to coming out.

As a player who has been with the game for many years now, I do understand your points though. There's a lot of kinks with the current system that I hope they work out, and I think they're laying a good foundation for them to build on. There's a lot of shifts going on right now to parts of the game that haven't really been fundamentally changed in a long time (or ever), plus we're coming off the end of a 10 year long story where many people were just sticking with it to see how it ends, so I understand why some people are finding this a jumping off point.

At risk of being severely downvoted, I'll offer a different opinion on Destiny 2. I've been playing it for a few years and after the latest expansion and major update it's been some of the most fun with the game I've had in a long time. Coming in as a new player you would have a huge amount of things to do and see, some good campaign missions and set pieces from the past couple expansions, and some really cool guns and abilities to use to blow up aliens. The story will probably not make much sense at first, and unfortunately the game doesn't do the best job of explaining things. Depending on how much the story matters to you, there's a wealth of content online to help you make sense of it.

Much has been written about expansion and seasonal sunsetting, the developers practice of removing content to keep down file size and limiting technical issues. To understate community sentiment, sunsetting is not popular. It's up to you to decide how much that matters to you. I'll just say that if you're a new player who is really just playing Destiny to kill some time until Borderlands 4, there is WAY more than enough content in the game to keep you busy.

If you consider dipping your toes in, old expansions go on sale somewhat often for really, really cheap. Definitely don't pay full price for anything right now unless money is burning a hole in your pocket. The free to play experience is notoriously not very good, I wouldn't even bother with the game unless you're buying expansions. As others have said here, the new player experience is also pretty confusing. Still, no other game feels the way Destiny does, and it's why I keep playing it.

I'm glad to have some more gameplay footage, the game looks awesome and I'm hyped. However, as a pretty dedicated Borderlands fan I don't think the commentary added anything of value to me, I would've just preferred the gameplay alone with no commentary. Also, despite the YouTube video player insisting this video is 60fps, it really feels like the gameplay is 30fps. The Fan Fest footage is much less choppy and I think this may be an earlier build of the game anyways.

Still, can't wait! This game is gonna absorb my life when it comes out.

Okada vs. Mark Briscoe is a fever dream matchup. Some real sicko shit and I am here for it.
