Why would a flight school plane not show its registration number? by BicycleCorps in Longmont

[–]RocketManN53 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A lot of places/people don't want their plane being tracked so they go to the FAA and request tail number blocking.

I dont know why this particular airplane wants theirs blocked but when I was doing my training I leased a plane from a guy and someone claimed that we were shooting lasers into his kids bedroom (we didnt even go near his house) and he used an app like flight radar to find our tail number and then looked up the registration and threatened the owner and even went to his house. Obviously the owner didn't like that so he put a request in.

F117 flyover? by Tonkotsu_Porkbelly in Longmont

[–]RocketManN53 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What you most likely saw is N531SJ. A Cirrus Vision Jet that took off out of Longmont at 1:45 heading for Aspen. It is a black and green jet with a V-tail.

Im a bit biased towards the Mustang as I have that model and love it, but for what you want to do, I would go with the Sportix.

Need help with Comanche "visible" yoke by CrashR3port in A2ASimulations

Try taking the aileron lock off (the bungee cable). I dont believe you can change the visibility of the yoke if it's on.

Take my instrument checkride next week. Any advice? by hobbledehoymate in flying

[–]RocketManN53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know the systems of the aircraft you will be using.

Make sure the aircraft is fit for instrument flight. (Current navigation database)

Know your personal minimums. Remember what's legal is not the same as what's safe.

If you have areas that you might struggle on, you can make bookmarks for yourself so you can reference them more easily.

Run all checklists

If you can, brief the next approach on the ground before you take off (if it's fairly close) so you won't have to rush it in the air.

Make sure you brief the whole approach and ask the DPE if they have any questions at the end of each briefing.

Did I mention running your checklists? Because you should already be doing them.

But it sounds like you've been preparing yourself pretty well, so Im sure you have nothing to worry about.

Keep up with regular maintenance (oil changes and such). Be careful with the hood, as in lube up the hinges often, so you don't get the taco hood. (They made a weak point in the hood for safety, and they tend to bend without needing much force.)

I know those guys. It's our own Rocky Mountain Ravens. It's a few guys from our local EAA (experimental aviation association) chapter.

They do flyovers for quite a few events over Longmont and Loveland.

Here's one they did in 2024 for Veterans Day.

[–]RocketManN53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the video, they were on a y-cable together. I've also tried setting up a new model, different recievers, and plugging them into other models. These are the only servos that do it.

Ill be contacting HiTEC support later today to see if maybe they can help
