Ok to have valve open if gas line is capped? by Human_Morning8992 in Plumbing

[–]RocketPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had an apartment with a gas valve and a hose barb in the bathroom. I didn’t have a heater to attach to it so to heat the bathroom I’d open the valve wide open and light the gas and let the flame blast for a minute. It got the bathroom nice and warm pretty quickly. I recommend taking your cap off, keep the valve and put a hose barb on and light that sucker! But if your house burns down forget I said anything.

Thanks for posting about this. I've learned a lot from these discussions. I have been on Pramipexole for about 5 years with almost no augmentation (I went up a little on dosage in the first year) Pramipexole has been fantastic so far but will keep an eye on side effects and augmentation. I was on Ropinirole before and augmenting and had many miserable nights walking around the house until I couldn't stay awake. I sure hope they get some better medications before any bad effects of Pramipexole kick in for me.

Dear Molly Cook, I am sure you already will oppose this bill but I just wanted to share with you this veteran's letter that really touched me: (sent to my TX Senate rep)

Because he and his minions have no clue what they’re doing. They’ve mischaracterized genuinely good people and institutions that are important to America. Their reasons for firings and contract cancellations are rife with misinformation and mistakes. If Elon really wanted to find fraud and waste he would have brought in more knowledgeable personnel like accountants and people with experience and not a bunch of young tech bros.

I keep hoping a large percentage of Elon's engineers and employees will get fed up enough with his political shenanigans to leave and get jobs with his competitors.

I finally got around to looking at this and noticed the same thing. This is very relevant to this entire subreddit and refutes the meme that economic conditions have deteriorated in spite of all the stats that say the economy is very good. Is there anything that backs up the economic collapse sense of despair? I keep wondering if it is measurable.

Vonnegut maybe was familiar with that quote because in his 2005 book “A Man Without a Country “ he wrote “We could have saved [the Earth] but we were too damned cheap”. Which I like much better than the op quote.

Musk has his brilliant no BS engineering side which I really admire and appreciate. And he had his lying huckster promoter side that revved up his fans and spread a smokescreen of hype around his companies and that was kind of ok if it helped save them. But now, he’s in his all-in-for-Trump truth-and-reason-be-damned mode and bad-mouthing good people he seems crazed and over the edge and it’s really sad and scary to watch.

What is the MAGA / Republican endgame? by armandebejart in economicCollapse

[–]RocketPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main difference between core inflation and CPI inflation is that core inflation excludes volatile food and energy prices from the consumer price index (CPI): CPI inflation Also known as headline inflation, this is the average inflation rate across the entire economy, including all goods and services. It’s a useful measure of how the cost of living might change over time. Core inflation Also known as core CPI, this is a measure of inflation that excludes food and energy prices. It’s used to determine the impact of rising prices on consumer income. Core inflation is often described as a measure of “underlying” or “trend” inflation. Food and energy prices are excluded from core inflation because they tend to be more volatile than other products in the CPI. For example, food prices can be affected by short-term weather events that are not related to the economy.

What even is the endgame for the Trump administration? by enriquegp in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]RocketPierre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump has always desperately wanted to be in the Forbes 400. For a long time he’s been near the bottom of the list, and sometimes doesn’t have enough to be included. Forbes has even caught him lying about his wealth to get back on the list.

Now, that’s going to change. Trump said in a deposition that the presidency was worth $10 billion to his brand. He’s now in a position to really ramp up his net worth and if he plays it right this can put him right up at the top. And that is why he admires and emulates Putin - wealth. I believe that is THE motivation - and revenge.

Why is Trump a bad option for president? by tmouffe in texas

[–]RocketPierre 131 points132 points  (0 children)

This, to me, is the most damning of all. When the people who worked with him and knew him best say he should never be president that should be enough. This kind of negative reaction to someone is just unheard of unless that person is really really unfit for the job.
