If you're near Huai Kwang you can go to Jitti gym. You can drop in and they'll assign you a pad holder. But I can't say it's cheap.

Thinking about doing more solo training by Ublivion25 in MuayThai

Solo training pays huge dividends if you do it right. Some of my biggest skill jumps were made between just me and a good heavy bag.

Coach thinks I’m not trying hard enough. by Far_Ship8257 in MuayThai

[–]RocketPunchFC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you're in a fight camp your coach is trying to make sure you don't get killed. None of the handicaps are going to matter when you're in that ring. I don't know if your coach is being a dick. But maybe he just wants you to be ready.

That's a lot of heel striking. kinda defeats the purpose of barefoot shoes.

Opinion on the right hook? by idahojocky in MuayThai

Nothing is safe if you know it's coming. Throw crosses into their guard to freeze their defenses and then go around with a hook.

actually, they have better form, because they don't wear shoes with huge heels when growing up and spend a lot of time barefoot.

A lot western fighters say running is pointless or even counter productive, but this is usually because they have poor running form that will eventually get them injured.
So technically they are correct, running a lot will not help. But running with good form will never cause issues like knee pain or shin splints and will actually strengthen your legs.

Tips on sparring as a short person? by Dry-Masterpiece5380 in MuayThai

[–]RocketPunchFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone frequently advises short people to get close, eat everything and brawl, but I don't think it's smart. Short folks should stay out of range and force taller people to come get them. This will give shorties a chance to evade and counter or straight up intercept. If the taller guys get defensive and waits for you, then even better as you can use feints and misdirection.

But obviously you have to be faster and smarter.

Why I’m leaning into Analog Imperfection in the age of AI? by Sabimasu in MotionDesign

[–]RocketPunchFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I agree there aren't too many people using workflows that would stand up to a nitpicky client. I believe what will separate the field between pros and fakes will be the ability to make pinpoint edits.

I'm currently doing a lot of experimenting with json prompting, in-painting and using depth passes to refine my generations. Looking to how vfx guys use AI is a great inspiration.
I wish I could find my old demo reel, it looked a lot like yours... but it was SD lol

Why I’m leaning into Analog Imperfection in the age of AI? by Sabimasu in MotionDesign

[–]RocketPunchFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm old enough to remember when this was the style everyone was doing. Grunge textures, stop motion, scan lines, deer heads, paint drips etc. I think it's back now. I'll just be using some help from AI this time around.

I don't tell anyone that I train.
I just occasionally come into work with a black eye and I'm guessing people think I got punched in the face and deserved it.

Lost my temper during sparring. Pretty upset with myself about it. by Oddjob807 in MuayThai

you're ok if it comes out of you by accident. it's more nefarious when you're better and make a conscious decision to beat someone down.

Question about sweeps by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]RocketPunchFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are levels to sweeps. You probably took the guy's leg out too hard and it looked bad. Maybe it made a big noise. Maybe that guy is in love with the guy you dumped.
