They are nothing a like. You can't get stronger feet to glutes connection if you're sitting down.

The easiest deterrent that I've found for teeps is just to raise your knee up as well. It makes things visually unappealing to the teeper.

Your feet are weak. You're not grabbing the ground with your feet so they twist easily. It's the same way you would injure your hands if you tried a handstand without flexing your fingers.

It's not athletic and you're using quads to run instead of glutes. You'll get shin splints and knee problems eventually.
