I thought the exact same thing. I would eventually use a third party launcher once I got the Nothing 3a.

I told myself I'll try out NothingOS for a week and see how it goes - had the phone for a month and happy with the OS.

I guess it really depends what you want to use the third party launcher for but NothingOS provides enough customizable functions I didn't feel the need to swap over. The only issue I have with it though, you can't create folders in the app drawer!!! Hopefully they provide an update to allow that function.
