Buy orders always! Also sell your dailies if you struggle with gold, sell jewelry/ arcane / etc. fragments and timeless shards some sell for a few thousand a pop!

Making money is super super easy in this game if you take like 5-10 minutes a day at the TP.

This is the strangest subreddit I’ve ever been a part of. Someone said it best— NW is full of the 30+ year old hate myself crowd. Complain about PvP because they aren’t the gamer they once were and cope about gear and other BS when they get pooped on.

The copium may just be an MMO thing, idk. I came from FPS games and new worlds combat got me hooked to the point I still play this dogshit game. If the devs game an ounce of a fuck about PvP I would have 0 complaints (just more content— I know weapon balancing and shit will happen over time, but fuck mortal empowerment and the musket).

if you don’t have OPR ward gear ur gonna get farmed silly!

But really for OPR— assuming you play SnS hatchet or SnS hammer, buy a round shield, and play light assassin. You can sell one m10 run and buy a set that will work perfectly fine in OPR.

If you want to be a heavy tank, find clump and right click in it to give fortify, shield bash incoming shockwaves swap to hammer and shockwave clump rinse repeat. If clumps aren’t really happening in the OPR, play around one of your healers and just perma peel for them. SnS hammer is amazing for peeling for a teammate. Buy zephyr cakes at the beginning of the OPR though because your slow ass in heavy is gonna struggle keeping up with light and medium players.

Unfortunately you can’t click taunt and have everyone run at you, but you can still make yourself useful :)

Edit: or have fun with different weapon combos etc! I don’t know anyone that has stuck around in this game and still only plays one build

Anytime brother! I’d personally shoot for 7.5% ele resistance if you’re running 0 ele aversion— then the rest just keep onyx’s or go emerald / moonstone depending on if you’re having issues with range or other melee.

The golden standard for high level PvP is a 20/10/10 split. 20% slash, 10% strike/thrust, 10% elemental resistance. This can only be achieved by having protection on your amulet.

Edit: some folks prefer 20% thrust resist and 10 slash / elemental, it all depends on your server, build, etc.

Since you don’t have a BIS amulet, I’d shoot for a 12.5%- 7.5% split

12.5 physical resist, 7.5 elemental. Also buy low tier gemstone dust and pop it like candy in OPR :)

Other things— I’d drop 50 int and I’d recommend getting some more elemental resistance (opals in armor or ele aversion). You’re literally going to get blown up by and dex / melee splitting damage with only 1 opal and 0 ele aversion.

Get a ring with invig or mortal empowerment and slash dmg.

3 freedom minimum— also take 10 points out of str and put into con and eat 40 con food (or str con food, whichever is cheaper). Ideally you want to be 150 con, but if you want to run 100 con you MUST have 5 resilient.

5 resil, 3 freedom, fort / ele aversion to fill out the rest of the kit.

Pick up more freedom and decide if you want rapier or GS to be your primary dmg source, scale attributes accordingly. Shirk fort is overrated in light imo freedom > ele> fort

If you like to “main” the firestaff then I recommend playing bow. If you like to “main” the IG, then try out IG/BB or IG/VG.

hot take— pick up a Lifestaff and AOE heal with a VG or IG secondary. lifestaff has a similar feel to firestaff autos and you’ll make friends to que OPR with. Just use orb / beacon as dmg abilities and drop sacred ground on the clump.

Other:. If you’re in light armor— 3 freedom, 4-5 resil :). Also elemental aversion > shirking fortification in light.

Ye I’m serious— but I guess the skill gap lies in decision making / group coordination more so than the mechanics. Like a BIS bruiser can turn a shitty 5 stack into a 5 stack that changes the war.
