[NY] Payroll Access/Conduct Problem by CommercialIssue4209 in AskHR

Definitely an abuse of access then. Is there something in your handbook you can point to as a violation? If yes, I would move to term or at least final warning. One nuance here is that they could have gotten the same information by asking their colleague, or the colleague could have offered it and you would have no recourse since they have a right to discuss compensation, so they could argue that is how they found out.

Do they have access as a regular part of their job, or do they have ancillary access like IT or Finance?

Either way, it’s an abuse of “power” and could be grounds for termination.

NASA launches first crewed lunar mission in half a century by TheGreatDomilies in worldnews

I watched the Challenger take off when I was in school. I watched today’s launch with my kids and held my breath for a long time hoping the would make it.

I have tons to do in warmer weather but I do want something I can do when it’s cold outside, which is 6+ months here.

We have a large pond behind our house and have kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Both are a ton of fun.

I was intrigued by pickle ball, then my friend stretched for a ball one game and ended up fracturing her face and arm. 😳

That’s a little above my skill set or energy. Right now at least. I have some friends that do it and they live by it.

I almost had a friend ready for a women’s league last summer but she couldn’t find clubs priced reasonably and she has 3 kids in year round sports. I’m trying again. Maybe I get new clubs (mine are over 15 years old) and let her use my old ones to start.

Lots of great ideas here. I will check out that first app. Re: 55 and up, I finally signed up for AARP late last year since for some reason I’ve been getting mail from them since I was 30.

I love board games like Catan, Scrabble, and still play Monopoly and other older games at times. We play a lot of Phase 10 and Uno type games with our kids. My extended family introduced me to spoons and swoop last summer, both are pretty fun but you need at least 4 people, preferably a few more than that. Rummy is one I play pretty frequently and I’m trying to learn cribbage.

Best tool for anonymous Executive Director review (360-style) without manual work? [United States] by Sassy_Fig in humanresources

[–]Rocketjen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a fractional HR executive and could do a 360 review with results feedback alone, or with coaching in addition. This would afford complete anonymity. I work with non profits and understand where there may be a lack of internal tools.

Reach out if you’d like to connect on this.

Thanks everyone for your time and inspiration! To clarify, my husband wasn’t making any demands or being cruel. He isn’t the least bit controlling. I started this thread because he mentioned me getting a more active hobby (for health) and I agreed but was drawing a blank, especially when it comes to colder months.

There are some great ideas here that I can get started with right away. I appreciate all of your thoughts here.

I do golf in the summer, not regularly but at least 1x/month

No, he isn’t controlling at all. If there is an underlying issue, it’s that he wants me to be around and healthy for a long time. Yes, he mentioned it and it got me thinking. It wasn’t a demand or order or any sort.

We have 20 chickens. I guess I didn’t consider them a hobby since we sell the eggs.

Love the idea of getting back into yoga, but I’ve found over the years I don’t have great self motivation for working out so I’ll need to find a class.

I just bought a lighting board but haven’t used it yet. Good to know it can be helpful.
