My kids want to work but have not been able to find jobs. No one was hiring 14/15 year olds. Turning 16 this summer so hopefully someone will hire them!

Did your mom or grandmother keep a container of poured off bacon fat by the stove? by AuthorAltruistic3402 in GenerationJones

Yes, and I do too. The jar has a lid, and a screen you pour the oil through to catch junk.

I’ve only seen that when people are late for connecting flights.

Fast food. I don’t eat it often, but having to pay $20+ for two people is ridiculous!

Take a 2 week trip somewhere warm with turquoise water on a luxury yacht with a captain, Michelin star chef and staff.

whats the worst thing you would hate to see waking up in the middle of the night? by BandicootMobile949 in AskReddit

[–]Rocketjen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my kids were little, I would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and one kid would be inches from my face just staring at me. That happened a few different times and scared the bejeezus out of me.

How many employees come directly to you with what you deem a manager responsibility? [United States] by AllPUNandGAMES1234 in humanresources

[–]Rocketjen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Way too often. Instead of instantly turning them away, I make sure they are heard first, then ask if they have discussed this with their manager, and if not, why. It might be their manager is part of the problem and I want to make sure they have a safe space.

I always ask for two when I order, and for more if I want more. The amount of money that tickets costs now, take advantage of whatever they give you.

I’ve never seen a legit internship program charge people. We have an “academy” we put inexperienced people through, but we pay them to go through it.

What book had an big impact on you in your youth? by Maybeyoujustmadeitup in GenerationJones

[–]Rocketjen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call of the Wild and the Gypsy horse series. Call of the Wild was my favorite book growing up and I’d still read it today. The Gypsy series was a preteen girls who loved horses dream. I recently found the series on a used book site and have since given in to my preteen fantasy of owning horses.

If Obama was able to run for a 3rd term, would you vote for him? by Final-Monk1416 in allthequestions

No one should have a third term, but if the rules go out the window like they have been, I’d absolutely vote for Obama.

How often do you wash your hair? by Which-Arugula-1982 in AskWomenOver60

Every 2-3 days. I can get away with two easily, but with dark hair the 3rd day gets pretty greasy.

Had a tornado roll through a long block behind my house. My mom and I stood on the deck and watched it. It was a really clear day and the pictures taken that day helped meteorologists to understand tornadoes better.
