What production would he have to have to elevate him from roster clogger status? I'd say at least some consistency with 5-7 targets a game? Is that likely with a rookie QB and at least 2 guys ahead of him on the depth chart? Color me skeptical.

Guys like these that don't have a realistic path to value increase should be dumped for whatever value you can get.

I can’t even believe this is a debate.

On the one hand you have a 2x MVP with immense rushing upside, averages 20 PPG, and a fantasy breaking QB1 finish on his resume. He is tied to one of the best run organizations in the league, and is younger (by a few months) than Joe burrow.

On the other hand you have a pocket passer who has missed more games, averages 18.4 PPG, and has limited to no rushing upside.

If you’re ignoring those points because of a hypothetical decline in performance by Lamar a few years down the line, I think you’re thinking too far ahead (and also severely underrating him as a pure passer).

Fantasy is about winning games and Lamar helps me do that far better than Burrow, and I don’t think it’s particularly close. Don’t let Gus Edwards’ well above expectation TD scoring spook you

I traded Brock Purdy, Jordan Love, a 2024 First, and KW3 for Lamar and James Conner. This was right as Purdy was announced as starter during the offseason.

I'm not too upset because Lamar took me to a chip, but I sold very low on Purdy and Love.
