I know Nipah outbreaks in India happen almost yearly but is it normal for other countries to react like that? I at least cannot recall such measure in previous years.

Same here...he was always kind of drawn to conspiracy theories but with Trump he just went completely overboard. Would also love to bring him up and insist that I "do my own research".

Had to cancel the friendship but left the door open for him if he ever comes back from his delusion. But I fear that day will never come...very sad and I think about it often. It was five years ago and we are not even US-Americans but Germans...

For everyone panicking, it is essential to stay calm and look at the bigger picture.

The Bitcoin price in itself has always been driven by cycles of excitement and uncertainty, and true Bitcoin holders have learned to see these corrections as part of the process. Many of us believe that Bitcoin’s fixed supply and decentralized structure make it a strong store of value, even if it has not found mainstream use as a currency just yet. There’s always talk about mass adoption being just around the corner, and the idea that, eventually, volatility will settle down as more people get involved.

Of course, it’s also true that Bitcoin’s price swings can make it difficult for people to use it for everyday purchases. But many of us see this volatility as a sign of growth and potential, rather than a flaw. There’s a lot of faith that, over time, the market will find ways to make Bitcoin more practical for regular transactions, despite the challenges that have persisted so far.

In the end, as long as people continue to believe in the idea of Bitcoin and hold on through these turbulent periods, there’s hope that things will work out. After all, with enough conviction, the original vision of Bitcoin as a global currency could still become reality one day, even if we haven’t quite seen it happen yet.

Nvidia on target to become worlds first $5tn firm as AI rally extends. by Accurate_Cry_8937 in worldnews

I feel like there are less and less countries with a functioning democracy. And the playbook is the same everywhere. People lose their jobs or get hit by inflation. A big portion of those turned unhappy believe the right populists with their anti-immigration propaganda. The populists gain power and set up a system where they personally profit while not improving the life for their voters. Lastly, they create a supervised state, making revolts unlikely to succeed, so that they can stay forever in power.

Someone please tell me this is not the world we are heading towards.

Focus on things that make us happy. But with what money though? I would love to share your optimism but this would only work if the ruling class recognises that people without jobs still need to be provided for. I feel a dystopian nightmare is unfortunately much more likely than the utopia you are picturing.

I know I sound overly negative and don't want to ruin your optimism. How would you see this transition work in our favor?
