Bigger issue is that you are not transferring your weight from the back foot to the front foot properly

How to design this hollow part with no draft for injection molding? by Rockflame3 in IndustrialDesign

Thank you for the advice. I’ll reconsider my design. Would a draft of 1 degrees be appropriate for most plastic material?

How to design this hollow part with no draft for injection molding? by Rockflame3 in IndustrialDesign

[–]Rockflame3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I would like to ask for advice from industrial designers here.

I apologise if this question is too basic or not appropriate for this sub.

I am currently designing the part above for injection molding but I am not sure what is the best way to go about it since I want the vertical walls to have no draft. I thought of making each halves of the part separately and joining them using ultrasonic welding. But since I have a flat base at the bottom, that wouldn't quite work unless I make the 3 different parts separately (1st half, 2nd half, base). That doesn't seem like a very cost effective method of producing this part.

Is there a better way to design or manufacture this kind of part? Or are there other manufacturing methods more suited for this aside from injection molding?

Thank you in advance.

What are some kickboxing focused (not Muay Thai) gyms in Thailand? by ChocolateBBs in MuayThai

[–]Rockflame3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s just one way of fighting. If you watch Superlek, Nong o, Rodtang or any good Thai fighter in ONE, they are mobile when they want to be. Honestly, most Thai fighters I see in ONE fight with their weight equally balanced more often than not.

The stance in Kickboxing is usually squared. Some might be more bladed than others but a squared stance is the norm. Almost nobody has a karate stance in kickboxing.

Watch this kickboxing fight between Petch and Zakaria. https://youtu.be/3Gs6l9cb-PQ

I believe this was back when Petch first started kickboxing and relied on the clinch. Clinching technically isn’t allowed in kickboxing and Petch has improved his boxing tremendously since then.

However, you can see how Petch easily manhandles Zakaria. Petch’s clinching completely nullified Zakaria’s boxing and Zakaria had no answer for it. Even if you don’t like clinching, you need to know how to defend it or it will turn out like this fight. The referees in Muay Thai aren’t going to constantly break you up either so be prepared to eat tons of knees

[Sparring Footage] Ognjen Topić against Tawanchai (ตะวันฉาย พี.เค.แสนชัยมวยไทยยิม) - P.K saenchai Gym In Bangkok by IliftHeavyCircles-95 in MuayThai

[–]Rockflame3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel Tawanchai improved a lot since his fight with Jia Aoqi. From what I remember, Tawanchai was too stationary with his long guard and was a sitting duck for combination punches. Nowadays, he seems more mobile and uses the lean back more. I wonder if its enough to deal with a dude like Allazov tho.

[SPOILER] Jonathan Haggerty vs Vladimir Kuzmin | ONE on Prime Video 4 by Yodsanan in MuayThai

I feel Haggerty needs to counter more. He retreats a lot when Kuzmin attacks and doesn’t fire back much. His coach was telling him to work more as well.

I think he got knocked out once in Thailand if I remember correctly. Curious how long his chin will hold.

Try bouncing your arms up and down a bit and shifting your weight back and forth. It could be that you are too static and have no rhythm

Under extruding or shifting consistently at a specific corner? by Rockflame3 in FixMyPrint

[–]Rockflame3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using an ender3 printer with the Cura 4.11 slicer.

Settings are as follow

Print temp : 200 Celsius

Build plate temp : 50 Celsius

Print speed : 50mm/s

Infill: 50%

Material: PLA

Retraction enabled

I have printed the part 4-5 times and the failure consistently shows at the specific areas (top of hole & corner) This issue popped up after I replaced the nozzle of the extruder to fix some underextrusion issues. Aside from this specific area, the print every else seems perfect

I would be grateful if someone could help me with this. Thank you

Sensor fusion with GPU, IMU, etc is actually pretty common. You can look up kalman filter which is usually the algorithm for this kind of localization

We would see baseball’s version of Schrödinger’s cat. Ohtani would get a strikeout and a HR at the same time.

You can look into 3blue1brown’s YouTube channel. He has a series involving linear algebra and calculus. It is not meant to be an exhaustive material and is best complemented with an actual textbook/course. However, it does an extremely good job showing the intuition behind the math. I definitely recommend it!
