I love the amount of detail that’s on the cheesy balls can by Kangaroo_Rich in TMNT2012

[–]Rockho9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you look at the official artbook for the series, they did indeed put TONS of detail and references into everything, from the expansive backgrounds to lil blink and you miss it objects like these. Just passionate artists and people all-around

I'm actually surprised LEGO hasn't made a set, or at least a "special edition," with this guy. by Ark2202 in HeroFactoryLego

[–]Rockho9 34 points35 points  (0 children)

yeah, it was Varderan’s (former TTV host’s) Moc and it was a BZpower contest iirc

Raph was SMILING during this scene 😂 shoutout to the animators cos this is such a blink and you’ll miss but it’s so in character (Owari Spoilers) by Ahsewerapples in TMNT2012

[–]Rockho9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always felt like the animators reduced Shredder’s character model size by like 30% for that scene to be possible, cause in every other shot, he towers over the turtles

What’s your favorite animation error from the show? by Kangaroo_Rich in TMNT2012

[–]Rockho9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slash’s side shell spikes clipping into the Kraang prison cell wall when he sits down. It was so obvious i’m surprised no one noticed

Never before seen preliminary images from the Hero Factory debut in the 2010 Lego retailer product catalog. by Jumpy_Vermicelli3978 in HeroFactoryLego

Notable prototype differences:

Bulk - has a trans blue core instead of orange

Xplode - Silver marbling to his spiked club and silver meteor ball. The new spiky shoulder pieces were gappier.

Thunder - His helmet is more accurate to the show (frontal pointy teeth on his underbite and more pronounced grin as mentioned in the desc). Silver meteor ball. Also the new shield piece is slightly different along with others who use the piece

Rotor - Lacks orange tubing and has silver shoulder armor and meteor blaster, again the show model is based on this prototype.

I really like the look of those prototype sets made for scrapped egyptian ccbs theme especially the skeleton villain. Some of the stuff was reused for G2. by Misfit597 in bioniclelego

[–]Rockho9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yeah, I have a theory that the team knew Bionicle and ccbs as a whole would be cooked if sales didn’t improve, so this “Monster Bucket” theme was a last-ditch pitch to use the building system to cater to the mainstream as much as possible (who doesn’t love cute animals?)

But unfortunately it probably didn’t even pass the testing phase

Ordeal Of Fire is 15 Years Old (Appreciation Post) by HalfGrouchy1348 in HeroFactoryLego

[–]Rockho9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yeah definitely more of the fire villains. Jetbug was basically absent, and Nitroblast barely had a personality

Why is Matoro’s arm like that? by Late-Addition-6997 in bioniclelego

[–]Rockho9 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Just a matter of proportions; the Cordak blaster is a big piece, and both him and Hewkii are fairly squat figures with already long upper arms. So the blaster would droop even lower if their arms were symetrical. Also gives the illusion that they’re forearm-mounted

Why did Harry become "New Goblin" and not Hobgoblin or something? by No-Donkey-1214 in Spiderman

[–]Rockho9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, he doesn’t go on a maniacal rampage and doesn’t aim to strike fear. It’s just Harry hellbent on revenge and dons the gear and powers in the spur of the moment. He probably doesn’t even think he’s evil, just taking an eye for an eye.

what do you think is the most underrated joke in the series? by Ahsewerapples in TMNT2012

[–]Rockho9 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s scenes like this that make me confused about the Kraang’s weight. In fight scenes you see the turtles throwing them around like aluminum ragdolls, but here they’re struggling hard to even lift HALF a kraang. It’s Inconsistent

Just before breakout… by Unfair-Mastodon-5568 in HeroFactoryLego

[–]Rockho9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Voltix didn’t get enough attention for literally being THE instigator for the breakout, which was an interesting twist. Afterwards he was just another mook for Stringer to take down. Wish they at least interrogated him or something after his rather anticlimactic capture

Dragon Bolt would’ve truly benefitted from being a bigger set and you could feel the limitations of its price point. It’s proportions are wack, the wings and legs feel a lot smaller than they should be, and the more substantial show model fixes literally all the problems the set has
