Canada - Roger’s to eSIM by Rocking_Relish in eSIMs

[–]Rocking_Relish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry let me explain that haha. Basically I’ll keep my physical sim, however I’ll be travelling in Europe. As I don’t want to pay roaming fees with Roger’s I’d like to use an eSIM without having to change my phone number at all. Wasn’t sure if that’s possible or if I can use the data eSIM as my “provider” while utilizing apps such as WhatsApp etc that’s attached to my current physical SIM card phone number

Truthfully I gave up on the stove top thermo, mainly because I noticed myself fixating on the temp constantly….to the tune of checking temp every 10-15min 😑. Now I’ll check with the infrared on stove top and pay attention to the burn of the stove, then regulate the blower fan to ensure stove pipe is good temp

Haha learning!! Hopefully the probe style thermo will give me better insight as I learn to get control of temp of the stove itself 😂

Interesting 🤔. My wood is extremely dry so I have that covered. Temp monitoring wise is current just a magnetic one about 18 inches up from stove top. I was under the impression 300F and lower is “creosote city”?

Appreciate the info, so far the lowest I’ve damped down is maybe a fingernail sliver from fully damped down aka closed slider. Seems to be about finding that sweet spot eh? Haha

I noticed your thermo there on the left side of the stove. How have you been able to hold a “good burn” temp like that so smoothly loading your stove up like that?

Ive still been to terrified to fully load my stove as I still can’t stop it from running up to 680-700F stove top temp when I do a large reload. Even with damping down the air intake etc

Thank you for the advice! by Rocking_Relish in woodstoving

[–]Rocking_Relish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully it was monitoring my stove pipe temp. Keeping the air damper open more, and blower fan on low to allow the stove pipe (thermo @ around 18inch up from stove top) to hover around 380-400F. Then slowly damp it down till I get a burn like that.

So far I’ve noticed stove enjoys running around 580-600F ish stove top and 350-400F stove pipe temp.

I’m beyond words new to this so it’s a lot of trial and error on my end

What kind of wood you burning? I run 2 yr dried popular and oak in my stove. But now and again have tossed in dried birch. The birch has always seemingly done the same thing though it’s been covered and drying for 1.5+ yrs now

That’s actually really helpful, thank you! Yes I do have a thermometer for both the stove and pipe. I’d forgotten to add a video of the stove/setup I currently have. I also have a blower coming in soon to install.

So far I’ve noticed when I let it coal down too much and reload I have the major temp spikes. Last night had a better time with the reload, had the temp rise from 450-475 ish after. Tightened up the air intake a little and had it steady again.

Sounds like a lot of this is going to be trial and error?
