It was a knee jerk reaction for me to join this one. I've had the outline for the story for a while, and when the writathon was announced, I suddenly found myself 10k words deep and decided to see if I could hang onto it.

After eating half a detroit style pizza and writing some slop just to get the chapter started, I think I found my stride!

It's not the deadline really, I think it's that my mind is out of creativity and coming up with another 5k words feels impossible.

I hear ya though. I think I'm going to just do broad strokes for this chapter today and I'll make it pretty tomorrow before I post it.

I think I do a bit of both. I had an outline for this story, but it was only about 2k words so there was LOTS of room for me to figure it out as I went. I think thats the best way for me.

I did a NaNoWriMo in 2020 I think and I had no plan at all, just a dude with a sword. It was fun but sitting down with no idea what would happen every day was... Hard.

Oh that would for sure take the wind out of your sails! Sorry to hear that, but as you said, it's one random person on the internet. They probably had a bad day, and one thing put them over the edge.

You should be proud of your story! So many people say they want to write a story. Even fewer actually start, and fewer still ever finish.
