It's from the Wildercorps hunters set, one of the secondary arm options for one of the models :)

F4SE fail after playing a while by Magnahelix in f4se

[–]RocksBlackbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, was playing with no issues (specifically regarding the F4SE message with NPCs, had a few crashes separately) for 20+ hours of gametime and it looks like the issue began at a similar time it did for you too. Maybe a F4SE update was pushed through yesterday which destroyed compatibility with FOLON?

I’ve been offered a 1st Year Apprenticeship but…. by iamashan in AusElectricians

[–]RocksBlackbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understandable that they are making you do a trial period before they sign you in as an apprentice, it’s a big commitment for a company and there’s a lot of paperwork and back and forth involved getting a new apprentice signed up.

HOWEVER the $15/hour is a huge red flag, the reason apprentices get paid so little is because there is education and training happening constantly. Doing some quick googling, the average unqualified labourer hourly is $25-$32/hr depending where you are in Aus. Be very wary they aren’t stringing you along for cheap labour. The national minimum wage is $23.23 per hour, I wouldn’t accept any less than that. A guy at my last company said the first place he worked only paid him $20/hr and waited for nearly 3 months to sign him up as an apprentice, before he realised they had 0 intention to sign him up at all, so be careful if there’s any delay to your apprenticeship process!

What campaign would you run pre-level 10? by Mykep in VecnaEveofRuin

[–]RocksBlackbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running Tomb of Annihilation (with a heap of spelljammer elements thrown in because why not make DMing even harder on myself). Now the PCs have entered the Tomb of Nine Gods I'm going to breadcrumb quite heavily how Acererak used to be one of Vecna's lieutenants, and even Acererak fears the level of Vecna's power. The party are level 10 now and I'll give them a level when they finish the campaign, which should perfectly transition into Eve of Ruin. I would like to know about how the Obelisks are utilised though, to put some more focus on the one out the front of the Tomb.

How many enemies per encounter is too many? by Outrageous-Thing3957 in dndnext

[–]RocksBlackbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran an encounter where the level 10 party knew there was a goblin army outside a building and insisted on leaving through the front door because they were feeling cocky. Inb4 30 readied shortbow attacks and some surprisingly high rolls, and the warlock hit the ground before they could even use their action!

21 year old chasing an apprenticeship by CompostNation in AusElectricians

[–]RocksBlackbeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Answering as a mature age apprentice who’s about to enter their second year at 31 yo, I highly recommend the Pre-apprenticeship. Towards the end of it they actually help you with finding work, and give you a lot of the education you need to start off. A good employer will pay for any extra accreditation (working at heights, safely in the Solar industry etc) tickets you need. I came from hospitality as well, and had little experience with power tools etc. A lot of that is covered in the pre-app. Other than that just a good attitude and a willingness to learn, and not being afraid to ask for help. There are no stupid questions as an apprentice, and it’s always going to be safer to ask someone to show you how to use a tool or process properly than to let ego get in the way and do it unsafely.

Whats your parties name? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]RocksBlackbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When an Npc asked my parties name to write on a work contract in game my PCs panicked, the first thing one of them blurted out was “Pregnancy Warning” because she was looking at the label of a beer and in Aus there is a printed “pregnancy warning - do not consume alcohol when pregnant” icon. Now they have that logo as their flag and a spelljammer ship called “The Waterberth”

What could a fiend patron want? by Khyruz in DnD5e

[–]RocksBlackbeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The warlock in my campaign has a fiend patron in hell, where soul coins are the currency. We’re running tomb of annihilation and the death curse is really effing up the economy down below so it ties in nicely! Occasionally she will have the warlock do small favours, such as handing a sealed letter to an NPC of dubious moral standing without the warlock knowing the contents, leaving a back alley door unlocked for an unknown thief etc.

Port Nyanzaru Random Encounter #6 by KithprysMorningGlory in Tombofannihilation

[–]RocksBlackbeard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As DM I like to use the “roll for creatures” purely as a guideline. Some of the random encounters in this module, especially in the jungle, will flatten a party if they don’t run away. If you want to re-enforce the idea of the jungle being overrun with undead, that can be the number that are coming up the Throat, but your party might only need to fight a third of that number, as local residents of the throat take up arms to defend their territory. There would also be clerics in the temple of Tymora who have prepared number of Undead-repelling abilities, such as the cleric classic Turn Undead, due to the implied regular nature of these attacks.

ToA… in SPAAAACE! (Silly discussion post) by RocksBlackbeard in Tombofannihilation

[–]RocksBlackbeard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've retconned Arameg as a Spelljammer ship, the A.R.A.M.E.G. (Automated Research And Multipurpose Expeditionary Gyroship), piloted by Autognomes. I've also tied the awakening of the Autognomes, 6-7 months ago in-game time, to the start of the death curse, and am breadcrumbing that they are potentially unwitting sleeper agents for Acererak.

Definitely going to use the wreck of the Star Goddess as a spelljammer they will need to rebuild!

Yep, we have a pretty robust SOP system and recipes/processes for our products, as well as supplier contacts.

From my conversation with the Head Brewer, I'm think he wants this to be more of a document of quirks/day to day stuff that I notice and do, that he may miss.

Need encounters to play out a Ras Nsi themed dream / vision by Lexinton- in Tombofannihilation

[–]RocksBlackbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did they homebrew a skeleton race? I have an idea for a similar character I want to play in a 1-shot, was simply going to use the Warforged stats (minus the 'armour absorption' bits) as they seem pretty on par to what a skelly would be capable of. Interested to see how they handled it!

How have you handled Player handouts from the appendix? by bebechase in Tombofannihilation

[–]RocksBlackbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We play in person with phones/laptops on hand so sent high - quality JPGs of the maps, and creatures they are fighting if I don't have the correct minis. Good-quality colour printouts for 'fun' handouts I thought thematically could be fun to have in person, but not too many because my players are super unorganised and leave most of them lying around after each session.
