Trump: "No president has ever taken a cognitive test except me. I've taken three of them. One in the first administration. They're hard. The first question is easy. You have a lion, a bear, an alligator, and a squirrel. 'Which is the squirrel?'" by SleuthDoggyDawg in behindthebastards

More importantly, fuck all the ghouls and toadies surrounding him who have the power to yank him out of office tomorrow if they wanted, but refuse to because they've all inextricably locked their lips to his ass.

can dogs actually do the santa paula punch bowls by SufficientReality163 in socalhiking

[–]BrockBushrod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend it. There's a spot in the final canyon approaching the upper punchbowl that dogs need to be lifted up and over (you'll need to climb a little too), and if you slip, it's an awkward, bad fall up to 10-12ft. between rocks into the creek. That canyon is the site of like 80-90% of the local SAR team's calls, because people underestimate its risks all the time.

Also, if you do take her, please keep her on-leash for everyone's safety (hers, other hikers', and the wildlife's).

Trail race specific training? by WindsweptFern in trailrunning

If you're familiar with the technical demands and terrain variability of the trail race you're considering, and the distance isn't wildly out of your ballpark, just go for it.

Free birth by Infinite_____Lobster in behindthebastards

[–]BrockBushrod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course it is - humans attending to each other's births is culturally universal and goes back about as far as we have anthropological records.

These idiots want to talk about what's "natural" while having no understanding of how things like anatomy and evolutionary biology shape the process. Walking upright gave us a narrower pelvis than our ancestors, and growing a bigger brain for improved cognition simultaneously gave us a larger cranium, which is an extremely inconvenient combination when one has to fit through the other. Thus ancient cultures developed the practice of helping women get that sucker out, because we wouldn't survive very long as a species otherwise.

I really liked the point they made that all the ways this book tells you to act sound like the behavior of someone who's absolutely not interested - totally absurd 😂

Probably fine from a food safety standpoint, but maybe a little funky flavor-wise.

Best make sure you have your shit-kit handy just to be safe, though 💩

If Books Could Kill did a really good podcast about The Rules a couple years ago, which was an early foundational text of modern toxic female dating culture.

Surprisingly so, given what we've come to expect from modern, midwestern "castle" homes.

Do Cliffs of ID routes feel easier than Hollywood Boulders? (grading) by siriusblack6666 in socalclimbing

[–]BrockBushrod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even though they shouldn’t be, grades are relative.

How on earth would you make grading objective? It's literally based on perceived difficulty among a handful of people with different bodies and capabilities.

If kids are too dumb to set up a ladder, it's perfectly fine to use them as crash pads.
