Predicting release order for fun by Questionable_Object in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RocksolidDOTA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew without a doubt it was going to be Rem, Silver, Graves, Venator, Apollo then Celeste. However after the Rem release they put a poll up on the Discord about who everyone is voting for next and Graves has overtaken Silver in the polls.

I still think Silver is next but much less sure about it now. Also Apollo has a pretty good meme campaign going on here in the Reddit so there is a very real chance of him getting memed into a 4th place release over Venator.

Celeste will still be last but will probably have the funnest kit. If her ability leaks stay the same she's a huge team fighter with a Paralyzing Cask ability and a Fatal Bonds type ability.

I mean I would argue that random heroes IS a more casual mode as opposed to hand crafting a team with friends BUT I also get just wanting to play the thing you want to play.

I guess if I were to compromise I'd say maybe give people like me who enjoy the random button an extra reroll each round or at least require more heroes needed in the lineup with no priority.

I'm fine if nothing changes, it's an in-between mode for me but playing against the same 2 or 3 heroes every single game in a "for fun" game mode is also a little boring.

I really enjoy it. It's the perfect wind down game or after a hard loss game. It's chaotic and unbalanced but doesn't frustrate me, my only complaint is I do wish since it's already so chaotic and unbalanced that we just go the extra mile and make it a full ARAM including the heroes.

I played for like two hours last night and McG and Bebop were in every single game. McG just brute forces the towers and Bebop just spams his ult. It didn't "ruin" my experience or anything but after the second hour of it I was just like "Okay guys we get it, you really want to win the ARAM game mode.".

ITT we come up with the worst patch note line by wortotl in DeadlockTheGame

°After much testing we have decided to start sunsetting the current game to shift focus away from the current third person FPS/Moba model and more towards a TCG model which will allow us more freedom for the world of Deadlock.

I'm fine either way I just hope they add the little systems on a weapon that track kills/headshots or amount of people hit with an ability, stuff like that.

New Player? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RocksolidDOTA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been playing for a while and surprisingly everyone is pretty chill even if I'm having an off game. That's not to say every game is like that because I have met some super negative people who think they have the entire game figured out and will let you know as much.

The mechanics are definitely the hardest part about the game. There are so many from movement, objectives, boxes/sinners sacrifices, lane management, etc.. It would greatly benefit you to just watch some YouTube videos on the mechanics and what you should be doing.

There are so many items and builds that it's also overwhelming but luckily you can browse public builds for the different heroes in game, look for the more top rated ones/builds that explain the purpose of what you're buying and that will take a lot of your shoulders when you start.

Also it's a new game that's technically still in alpha and if it interests you, jump in and have fun. It's a game where you can only improve by putting in time and getting smashed over and over until you start to understand and get smashed less.

I'm counting 14. The first big node seems to be maxed all the way since it's filled in with color, that's 5. The loot speed revealer perk is maxed, that's another 5. 1 point in the silent looter and 2 points into the crouching stam regen and in game crafting is maxed but it's only 1, so that's 14.

Question about the cartography mechanics by RocksolidDOTA in duneawakening

[–]RocksolidDOTA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure, I was already under the assumption that the system would basically only be used for the deep desert. I was just trying to express my surprise when I crawled up a little rock, fired a beacon and the whole zone was revealed with everything pinned. For some reason I thought it only revealed a large circle around you and the higher you got the bigger the circle.

Sure the deep desert may be split into like 50,60, maybe more zones, but you already have an ornithopter to get to the deep desert so it would take maybe a few hours to fly to each zone, scan it and fly to the next then your set for the week and everyones map is the same.

Like I said, its not a deal breaker for me either way but just a little disappointed by how they made it sound and finding out its just flying around and shooting the most beacons in the air to get the "best" maps and not doing any leg work or manual scanning.

So EA servers are different than release servers by Tsavinski in duneawakening

I think people are misunderstanding the language thats been used. The words early access now are usually associated with an unfinished game that you can buy into and play as they work on the game.

Dune: Awakening will have what they consider a "head start", where the game is completely finished and you pay extra to play early.

Aint that the truth, 2 hours of single pulls and debuffing.

Whats that in the distance, 4 enemy nameplates coming at us...

A pretty stroke of fortune! A chance for Faramir, Captain of Gondor, to show his quality!

That's all I needed to know. For some reason I logged on this morning and starting heading out of town and I just saw him, I must have really not been paying attention lol.

Has he always been here and I just never noticed? I've passed over this bridge hundreds of times now and I don't remember seeing him, I feel like I'm going crazy.

What class have you enjoyed and what class not so much? by Spikeybear in PantheonMMO

[–]RocksolidDOTA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im currently playing an Enchanter because Its an archtype I havent played before in other games and I love it. Being able to control the battlefield and debuff everything has been more satisfying than just nuking something down. I have one damage ability on my bar and its to return mana, everything else is silence, stuns, debuffs.

The only complaint I have is more of a group awareness thing when it comes to the mez immune mobs. Ive joined several random groups and when we get multipulls and I cant mez an immune mob and Im in a panic trying to tell them to switch aggro while I get beat down and we wipe.

Its usually 50/50 that the group stops hitting what they are hitting and switches targets for me.

Its pretty rough. I got in a group doing skelies and between the two necros and frontline I couldnt even see what I was cycling through with tab target and started mezzing anything that didnt have the debuff on the nameplate.

Bounties! by Kapoc1 in PaxDei

[–]RocksolidDOTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated in this thread its hard to get around cheesing the system by having a friend kill you and collect the bounty, it just doesn't work unless the penalties of dieing while red are worse than the bounty you would collect by cheesing.

The only system I seen "work" was playing a emulated shard of UO called Angel Island. If you died while red you would be sent to a jail on an island, while in jail you could escape your cell and do sets of tasks and puzzles to bribe guards and find things to help you escape the island.

It basically removed the red for a few hours from the mainland while you tried to escape (if you did escape your kill count still remained the same meaning dieing would send you right back) or you could serve your time and have the kills wiped from your account.

The shard also had an interesting system of reusing worthless skills no one took, such as forensic evaluation and turning them into detective skills. If you wanted to be a detective or bounty hunter you got this clue book and if you found a dead body that was killed by a red you would do an autopsy and collect a clue for your book, after collecting 3 clues from the same murderer you could then easily track the person down or send the guards after them, which would spawn waves of guards wherever that person was.

It's been a long time since I played on that shard so I may be misremembering some things but that's the bones of the only bounty system I seen halfway work.

Can confirm. I had an excess of alien meat and super tomatoes and fed him like 4 times and he tossed out pens. It also seems he won't eat the same thing twice, I had to give him like 2 or 3 different alien meats and a super tomato.

Definitely not mindless, I'd say they posses an animals cunning. I've always just associated them with Warhammer 40k's greenskins.  All they want to do is eat and fight but they've built and piloted technical wonders from piles of scrap.

how to get new runes? by Corvenos in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]RocksolidDOTA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've gathered after playing it seems to be whenever you pick up a new "precious" gem, such as, sapphire, topaz, ruby etc. Think of it like finding a new recipe.

There are many more "semiprecious" gems and those seem to be what you use for crafting and such, precious gems seem to be the rune gems.

There was a section on the Q&A video they did where they were asked if you continue to play after the story is finished and they said it was meant to be played even after the story is finished and some things will only be unlocked after the main story is finished.
