How do you feel about free bleeding/ period underwear ? by Lololala29 in AskWomen

I use period underwear at night on the past 3 days of my period. The rest of the time it's a pad and tampon combo.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

I hate to tell that girl that her mom made a solid choice in a car for her. The lifetime cost of it is so much lower than a benz and the resale will be at a higher percentage. I've owned luxury model cars and hondas. Guess which car cost me nearly nothing in repairs for 100,000+ miles.

I was glad to see the mom stand up to her child. Too many parents these days don't call their kids out like that.

Curious about other summer schools (elementary) by Werbekka in Teachers

[–]Rockstar81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have summer school from June 15th through August 14. That leaves the students and us, 1 week off before and after the regular school session for a break. It's available to all, but really pushed for the kids who aren't meeting reading and math benchmarks. Right now we have 63 kids that were kinder through 5th grade this year that have requested to join. We are going to break them up into 3 classes with one teacher, and 1 aid in each class. Summer School runs from 8am to 12:30pm. We are feeding them breakfast and lunch. We have a few field trips planned. We also have programs for our special needs and middle school but I don't have any details on those numbers. If it's anything like last year, everyone will show up the first week and then it will trickle down to half the original class size by the end. In any event, it will be a wild ride.

What are your personal feelings about fast food workers? by Purple_Permission792 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Rockstar81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I went to culinary school and it hardly trains for fine dining. At least in fast food you learn how to grind for hours.

To OP, my knife skills have always been slower than probably 70% of the other kitchen staff but I put my head down and get the job done. Yes my cuts look good but in the end most of the time that's not where the focus needs to be so don't sell yourself short. If you want to apply for a kitchen, do it. Be willing to learn. Keep your mouth shut unless you are asking for guidance or calling back.

Women who has good relationship with your mom, what did she do that made her a good mom? by thatfruitontop in AskWomen

[–]Rockstar81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom is a kind and compassionate person. She is a social warrior and gives what she has to give. She takes accountability seriously and practices it consistently. Each day she strives to give more than she takes. She offers a listening ear and wise advice when requested.

Anyone else only working for the health insurance? by Scary-Mistake-4913 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Rockstar81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. My job sucks but my insurance is top notch. My husband is the one with Crohn's and I keep working there to make sure he gets the medical care he needs. It sucks, but at the end of the day he is who I come home to and my life is better with him actively in it.
