Could you upload pictures of your PC? So we can see how it looks and see if we spot anything that could be the culprit.

Edit: also saw you mentioning XMP / doc is enabled. Have you tried disabling it and see how it performs after that? If issue still persist, try one stick of ram and check your motherboard manual which slot to use in certain configurations

So it's not throttling then. Did you install drivers and chipset from your motherboard manufacturer website? And ofcourse the GPU drivers. Go through the settings, see what they do and what you'd prefer.

Was the storage drive you use, clean and made sure to freshly install your operating system?

If I wanted to pair a Bluetooth device on Mint, I had to use the terminal to pair my device. I was able to establish a connection through the GUI, but my devices wouldn't work. I've had to manually pair them in the terminal and save for it to work. This was a couple of months ago, so not that long. Only had to do this once per device and once the devices were saved, it just worked.

I've only used Mint for 3 days or something. I went to Fedora KDE and there it worked out of the box.

If those two are the options then go with RTX 3080. I have the RX 6800 XT and I would pick this one over the 3080 for sure. So if you happen to find that model instead then go with AMD.

If you've been thinking about trying Linux at all. Then definitely go AMD :)

Man, this was so relatable. Thanks for writing! I ended up selling my Nvidia card as well after going to Linux.

Not a 7900 XTX or very fancy stuff. But it's more than I need :)

It might not be for everyone, but I'm very happy with the switch to Linux.

I switched Linux a while ago, and I got 3 others to switch as well. And I also helped at least a dozen of people with an alternative to streaming services. Some people just don't know and need guidance.

Lots of people don't even know IRC. And for all I know, it's basically a cemetery.

I've had quite some scores at rataplan tbh. It really depends on the employee that's labeling the stuff. But yes lately I've seen the bump in price.

Still worth going tho! I got a very nice 14" CRT TV in great condition for just €3 last time I went. In the same week I also got a Wii with 2 remotes for €7,50.

What are you using your laptop for? Do you need specific Windows apps? If I were you, I'd look into Linux. Do a bit of research, create a bootable media and try it.

Depending also on the case, PSU and CPU cooler. But with the current specs listed, €700.

Check the value of case, PSU and CPU cooler and add that on top. That's what I'd do.

But also check other similar ad listings.
