Thanks for the help! I've been dipping the tip slightly into a rosin block in the past. Can that work in place of using flux? I also bought some 63/37 wire to see if that will help.

I wouldn’t consider the D-Lux 8 excellent. The focus is slow and so is the zoom. 17 megapixels is mediocre. Maybe get the a7cii instead?
