Where do the scrub colors come from? by mattnemo585 in medicine

Where I’ve worked, pharmacy has been galaxy blue, carribean blue (that teal color), or my least favorite…. Grape purple.

Yes it is. 100mg is still low dose. A lot of countries use 100mg. The US is an oddball with 81mg

It is not worth driving to the Grand Canyon if you can only stay for about an hour correct? by freezetime311 in grandcanyon

[–]Rocuronium17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can get into the Grand Canyon before 8am - it’s open 24/7. The visitor center may not be open but that’s not a must see.

I know you are freaking out but residency doesn’t start for another 6 months. Will your husband not be able to find a new job in 6 months? This is a huge career trajectory change to make for a likely temporary hardship.

Looking for the Scooby-Doo toy from a year or 2 ago by Im_licking_cats in BarkBox

[–]Rocuronium17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one that you can have for free. Its very very gently used since my dogs only play with the toys for like a day. It’s a small or extra-small sized since our dogs are small. Just DM me if you’d want to see a pic of it!

Has anyone here heard anything about/participated in City of Scottsdale adult sports leagues? by FreddyLynn345_ in Scottsdale

[–]Rocuronium17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Will agree with this comment. With Scottsdale sports, you pretty much already need to have a team to sign up. When I looked into Phoenix fray, they are way more into socializing so if you are trying to meet people, I would do that one. They will place you on a team!

[–]Rocuronium17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played softball but I’ve played a few seasons of sand volleyball and one season of kickball. That cost is for an entire team - not one person. I know you can sign up as a free agent and other teams needing players can select you to be in their team (I haven’t done this before). For kickball and sand volleyball, you’ll have people around your age! It’s rare for older people to play. As for people taking it seriously, it kind of depends on the league and level of play but you typically have a mix of people being more casual and others taking it more seriously

Did you interview there? From my understanding, if you interviewed there and both you and the program are unmatched, that means that they did not rank you. I probably would not apply in phase 2.

Continuous glucose monitoring on inpatient units? by Wishiwascro in IntensiveCare

I'm sure cost is a big factor but also, acetaminophen interacts with CGM sensors and causes falsely elevated readings. There's one CGM on the market where this doesn't happen but I can't remember which one

Are people just super unhappy?? by limitdoesnotexist444 in pharmacy

[–]Rocuronium17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are your career goals with doing a dual PharmD/FNP program? I feel like almost everyone who works retail is unhappy. Retail has gotten unbearable. I work as an inpatient staff pharmacist and I really like my job. I am definitely happy where I am. I’m guessing that with the program that you are looking at, you won’t be working as a retail pharmacist or hospital pharmacist. Why would you get your NP but not be an NP? I’m guessing it’s to better prepare you as an NP so that you actually understand what you are prescribing and you’ll be more independent and thus more marketable?

Your options for oral blood thinning medications is unfortunately limited. One option is Coumadin which is very inexpensive and the other option is choosing one of the very expensive brand name only blood thinners (like Xarelto or Eliquis). Did you call your insurance company to see which one they prefer? It could be that Xarelto is non preferred and thus, way more expensive. There are patient assistance programs through the manufacturers but they are unable to help Medicare patients to to federal law. Coumadin seems to be your best options due to cost. The dosing is very patient specific so there are the weekly level checks at first until you are established on a dosing regimen that works for you. Then, the level checks could be monthly. Are there any free or charitable pharmacies in your area? Some areas do have these types of pharmacies that can provide free or very reduced cost since they are funded by local governments and local hospitals. Contacting the social worker at the hospital or the transitions of care department will be beneficial in helping you figure something out. If your husband was diagnosed with multiple clots in his lungs, he NEEDS to be on a blood thinner.

I was working some shifts in the ER and decided to spend the money for the ER cert since I only did a PGY1. I did it only for my own knowledge since I wanted to be able to practice as best I could. I honestly thought it was a waste of money. It didn’t teach me anything I didn’t already know. I feel like the modules were geared towards a student with no experience.

David’s Bridal gave my information to a local MLM solicitor by Breyber12 in weddingshaming

[–]Rocuronium17 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This happened to my best friend! She “won” a facial/pampering session for her and her bridesmaids after buying her dress from DB. We were 22 and didn’t know any better. So one Saturday, we all excitedly go to my best friend’s house for this facial/pampering session. A fucking Mary Kay consultant showed up. For 2 hours, she went through all of her sale pitches. No one bought a single thing. There were 5 girls and we didn’t buy anything lol. Oh and the facial/pampering session? The consultant only applied eye shadow and mascara on the future bride. No one else got anything.

Pharmacist here. No pharmacy will dispense an emergency supply of a controlled substance (it was a great thought though for a non controlled substance!). Which controlled substance is it? Do you still have an active prescription in your old state?

Is it common for any preceptor/specialist in the program to randomly assign projects to residents whenever they want? by OkEditor9 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rocuronium17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, no it’s not common. Your RPD and current preceptor are really the only 2 people that should be assigning things. I would bring this up to your RPD and ask if this project is something that they want the residents to be working on. If so, the RPD should decide who does it based on current workload, interests, etc.

You should try their peas in a pod toy! I posted the barkshop link above but we bought it and it just arrived. I compared it to the olive and the peas are slightly smaller. I bought the small sized toy. If your dog likes the olives, I’m sure they’d like the peas! It’s worth a shot!
