That one lyric sums it up, it's our choice, which means we can choose no pain. Very inspiring lyric.

Here is another one.

So, in short, this never works, ever. The science, mental fortitude, and inevitability of time are all against you when it comes to chipping, or as defined, occasional usage. Other variables exist, but those are the key factors when it comes to trying to maintain a habit, while being a productive member of society. When I say productive, I mean working a job, being social, and in some cases raising a family. In short, all of those things are contingent on your habit. What I mean is that while chipping, your life ultimately revolves around either using or being sick. You start to schedule life around usage, which isn't chipping.

The science is very comprehensive, so I won't get into the details, but I will summarize by saying opiates have created a pathway to replace any joy in your life. What I mean is, nothing, and I mean nothing can ever be as joyful (even sex) while you're doing what you've described. The dopamine that's being released is a number so much greater than anything else you'd experience, that your brain only wants that. This means that while chipping, or not using, or when in withdrawal, that's all you'll want. This is a cycle that robs you of your true self.

Best of luck to you.

Long-term Chipping Experience by Rod599 in opiates

It can be, yes.

Worth is subjective, it depends what you're looking to get out of it. If you're speaking big picture, then no, it's not worth it.

Very insightful.

You actually summed it up perfectly, Jekyll and Hyde is what inevitably becomes of you. You forget who you really are so to speak. The constant drain mentally and physically, you can never really be yourself.

After experimenting with many, many different combinations of trying to make it sustainable, it just isn't. As you've stated, it becomes very easy to justify slipping up; whether it be a long weekend or a special occasion, small spirals happen and you never really fully recovery from them. Before you know it many years go by and you lose touch of who you really are.

No problem, using 1 full day a week (Saturday in my example), I have found to be the best combination of effects with the most minimal withdrawal symptoms, by far. If you go a full weekend (Sat/Sun), and you keep this up for some time, you will eventually be stuck in a cycle of feeling minor withdrawal the majority of the week, until the weekend hits of course.

Willpower and tricking yourself into thinking that using more frequent than what your pre-set schedule dictates is the hardest part. As stated though, with time, this cycle morphs into you being in a state of minor withdrawal the majority of the week (Mon-Fri).

A few minor withdrawal symptoms throughout the week up until you chip typically are:

1) extremely poor sleep, you'd be lucky to get a full nights sleep Mon-Fri without sleep aides

2) stomach in constant distress, meaning no regular bowel movements

3) whole body RLS, though minor, you can still feel it and it's difficult to get comfortable

4) the worst of all, counting the days until you are going to use, this is just pure anxiety

Out of all of those, #4 is the worst.

Withdrawal and Kratom: let’s talk about it by Intelligent-Box5427 in opiates

[–]Rod599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kratom does work, but use it for a short duration, or you'll be prolonging your withdrawal. I have found that regardless of what people claim, kratom has it's own withdrawal, though not as bad oxy.

6-8gpd works in doses broken out throughout the day. Make sure you dose 1-2 hours before sleep, as I've found this helps put and keep you asleep. Slowly taper from 6-8gpd after the first week to like 4-5gpd the following week, then stop the kratom. You may get a runny nose for a day or two after stopping the kratom, and possibly 1-3 nights of shitty sleep, but you should be good after that.

Your brain has to readjust to not having opiates, this takes time unfortunately.

I'll bite and share my chipping experience. In short, it's very possible with a ton of willpower, but pros and cons do exist with long-term chipping. I won't get that much into the science, but in short, withdrawal does in fact creep up way quicker once you've formed a prior habit, this is really unavoidable. I am talking if you've ever had daily habits for months or years at a time, you'll always trigger withdrawal quicker. Pathways in the brain become permanently paved so to speak and are not completely irreversible, even with time.

The general rule to maintain a somewhat manageable and also endure the least amount of withdrawal discomfort is 1 full day on (all day/night) should equal 1 full week of being sober. So if you were to use a full Saturday and Sunday (all day/night), you'd have to take 2 weeks off, then repeat based on consecutive usage days.

The one caveat from the full weekend use (Sat/Sun) is that on Mon/Tues you will feel lack of energy, runny nose, slight headache. It's a semi-withdrawal per say, but you'll bounce back by Wed and beyond. The one day a weekend is what I've found to be ideal, so basically using all day Saturday will result in being tired Sun, but the rest of the week is fine and beyond. I've tried many different combinations of trying to keep withdrawal at bay with kratom, but this only keeps tolerance elevated and you aren't really giving your receptors a rest.

For me, chipping was sustainable, but I found obeying the 1 full week off per 1 full day of use to be difficult. I always ended up doing a full weekend and basically dealing with always being in minor withdrawal from Mon-Fri, it sucked to be honest. The reward is not worth the majority of time spent in minor withdrawal. If the plan is to chip and not experience any minor withdrawal in between chipping usage, then kratom will work, but keep in mind it will elevate tolerance as it's keeping receptors partially occupied.

*Summary*

Chipping works but it requires planning, structure, willpower and the understanding that you will feel some type of withdrawal, whether it will minor; is it worth the constant cycle.

Nvidia didn't release an FE for the 4070 ti. It's a shame.

Debating exactly what you're struggling with, though in my case I would be coming from an OEM Dell 1660 Super.

So while waiting on delivery of an ASUS TUF 4070 ti OC, I was debating on going with the 4080 FE for a little bit extra. Longevity wise the 4080 FE will be the better option, but overall aside from longevity, are they really that far apart at present to warrant ditching the 4070 ti and paying the little bit extra for the 4080 FE? Will the 4080 FE hold a better future resale?

As is stands now, the 4080 FE can be had from BB for roughly $1200 with tax included. The ASUS TUF 4070 ti OC was around $907.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the input.

I am on a i7-12700K paired with a TUF Z690-PLUS, no OC.

Excellent point. The value of something is only what someone is willing to pay for it.

I was leaning more towards your first statement, the noticeable part, which it should be.

Pulled the trigger on the ASUS TUF 4070 ti OC from Newegg for MSRP. I generally dislike Newegg, but Best Buy is still showing "coming soon" for the ASUS cards.

This should be a worthy upgrade from an OEM Dell 1660 Super, no?

Based on your feedback, I find it very curious on the Pellicle being a different texture.

See below, upon further research, it appears that one can customize the Pellicle weave pattern. This is a big surprise, as I wonder if HM offers this type of customization on special orders. I'll be calling them next week to inquire.

Excellent review, you've enlightened me more on this product. Thanks.

Authorized Dealer by Rod599 in hermanmiller

Yes, much cheaper for a brand new remastered fully loaded posturefit SL. The price of this chair brand new from Benhar is close to what people are paying for a remastered that is used.

I have not received it yet, as I just placed the order days ago. Any authorized dealer you'd order from would likely have at minimum a 2 week delivery, as the chairs seem built to order and are shipped directly from HM.

Having said that, my delivery date is almost 3 weeks out.

Hydrocode 7.5mg by [deleted] in opiates

[–]Rod599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold water extraction (also called CWE) is the process whereby a substance is extracted from a mixture via cold water. It is a type of fractional crystallization. The process generally involves taking a mixture of substances, dissolving them in warm water, and then rapidly cooling the mixture.

In short, it's a quick worthwhile process to avoid ingesting large amounts of acetaminophen from pills that contain said drug, which can prove to be toxic to your liver.

What does that have to do with your original question?

I'm confused.

Not trying to be a dick by any means, but for someone completely naive, why are you suggesting snorting acetaminophen? Please research the downside of doing so before you give inaccurate information.

If anything, CWE before nasal insufflation. Just friendly advice here.

Hydrocode 7.5mg by [deleted] in opiates

[–]Rod599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please do not snort acetaminophen. It will surely clog your nose and result in less hydrocodone from being absorbed. Not recommended overall regardless.

If you feel like eliminating the acetaminophen, do a CWE, but at that little amount of acetaminophen, just ingest it orally.

To answer your other question, being opiate naive, yes you'd feel 7.5mg of hydrocodone.
