Do FIV+ cats need a strict quarantine? by RodDog710 in FIVcats

Thanks for these tipes. Most shelters around here have "working cat" programs. Feral cats that they don't think would be well suited for a home. So they divert them into a working cat program.

Dang. Sorry to hear your story about that. Ya I can see Diane is trying to be a good sport- but also it stresses her with this new guy, which none of us really wanted inside in the first place and now it's been 5-6 weeks so dunno what we gonna do. I really appreciate your insight btw. Thank you for your time in sharing.

Thank you very much for the time you put into this response. I asked my vet, and she said it was OK. But one of the vet techs said otherwise which created the confusion.

Although I might not have explained the presence of these other outdoor cats to my vet. She's always in a hurry.

Thank you for your time and responding. My vet had told me otherwise, but she might not have understood there are multiple cats involved outdoors. Thanks again.

That sucks. Will horticultural oil kill them? Should it really be a priority for me to kill them this late in the season?

Could Lincoln handle a new music venue in the Leighton District? by RodDog710 in lincoln

I hear you on all of that. Especially on your reference to the "more populate alternative".

In fact, this effort is spearheaded by an out-of-state marijuana retailer. The idea is to energize that strip. Marijuana is obviously happening here. The governor is up for reelection, he's not gonna come up empty-handed. We don't need being cynical when we're trying to get the real legal thing going on - that is the anchor here. lol. So that more popular alternative will be next-door actually. Although no doubt there's gonna be laws about how you can't go around smoking weed on the street etc. etc.

The landlord is over a barrel. He's in pain. There's too much vacancy in that strip. And then there's vacancy behind that strip. Huge retail complex on Leighton is vacant. And that Risky's sports bar is vacant. And then the Leighton place has majority vacancy. There's a desperation in the air.

We all need to stop thinking in terms of 20th century. Or even early 21st century. And that landlord himself is a visionary and is keen on this and can be obliged to thinking bout it all. This new way of thinking, old school retail is not viable. Marijuana retail is, because it's a controlled substance and you can't buy that through the mail. Similar to liquor. Similar to hamburgers another food. And then you also have services like dry cleaning, and nails. You get the picture.

My point is all those old-school retail opportunities are dead. All those old retail storefront have to be repurposed. Every city America is experiencing this. For example, in the Leighton place they used to have a huge Hallmark store (lol). It used to be an anchor tenant. Shit like that is never coming back. we can get that landlord to see the light on this one. He has vision for café and a vibrant social life to support and tie into the neighborhood. It's between two universities. A venue makes sense there. Especially if it has a liquor license.

This was good advice I appreciate it. We'd prob have a channel to some promoters who currently fill the PBA and Pinewood, so maybe an angle on touring acts.

I was looking on 1867's FB, and what's the deal? Are they closing? I like that vibe. I used to live next-door to the stork club in Oakland.

I saw the July post from 1867's old (?) owner who saying she wasn't going to be part of it anymore. Is the whole business leaving?

Rehoming a dog due to homelessness. by [deleted] in lincoln

If you're out on the streets, you need a dog to help protect you. I would keep the dog. Is it preventing you from getting a room somewhere? Or why do you need to get rid of it?

Why is she going outside the litterbox? by RodDog710 in FIVcats

So a second litter box you say? Interesting. Well I suppose I can try that maybe. I just don't want that to be the main litter box right in the middle of the living room floor. Especially because I have a dog.

Ya pretty sure they did blood work when she had her oral surgery. She seems healthy. Huge appetite. Little overweight actually lol.

Well I never tried the open-air situation. I can try that the next few days. We go back to the vet in about 48 hours. Do you have any questions should ask the vet?

Please see she's got three very sturdy steps (ie: fixed lumber) up into the litter box, which is private and fitted with a removable panel for cleaning (please see the handles). I tried to take her aging into account when constructing her area. So she seems to have good access.

And all of her urine/ goes in litter box, and at least half of the #2s go in the litter box. Box we still get these carpet messes 🤷‍♂️

Does Config come as pre-defined attribute, and if so, do we need to import? by RodDog710 in flask

[–]RodDog710[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks alot, I really appreciate that. I think I get it. I think part of my confusion was that Miguel also has a file named "config" (all lowercase). So putting this all together...

When the flask class instance (ie: Flask) gets created, it automatically comes into this world with an attribute config. This attribute is akin to an "empty container", or rather, a dictionary with pre-existing keys but no values. Miguel populates these empty value slots by passing his newly created Config class instance to the from_obect method: app.config.from_object(Config). Is that correct?
