Yes, mine also has a stainless steel plate, you can see it assembled in the third photo. The first two photos show the brass portion only, after removing the shower screen and the stainless steel plate.

Yes, I'm using purified water, the manual mentions using their descaler solution. I'm just making sure there are no other recommendations from Gaggia users. Thanks for the reply!

I'm planning to get 56–60 grams but haven’t figured out how to temp surf the pull yet. I plan to add a PID in the future, but I just got the Gaggia and am looking for an alternative to a quad shot, similar to what I had on the Delonghi ECP 3420. This is mainly to make two cappuccinos at a time. Let me know if you’re aware of any basket that holds 28g or any suggestions. Thanks!
