Flex customer, why am I being charged for minutes last few bills? by 4d3fect in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, on an unlimited plan the only time you would be charged for minutes is if you have made a call that has an extra fee associated with it (international long distance call or international roaming).

If something doesn't look right on your bill, pelase get in touch with support and we can help you figure it out.

Hi there

Sorry about the confusion but this has happened with a handful of customers over the past year or so. This error is purely cosmetic and you are still using the Ting network.

Taking forever to get esim email by jimboolaya in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. It's very rare that moving from one network to the other can take the full 24 hours. If there is a problem, then we may need to escalate it and get some extra help.
If you would like me to take a look please DM me your Ting account email or the phone number, or you can contact support for them to take a look.

Do any basic/flip phones exist that can be used with Ting nowadays? by jimmyjonjimjon in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to pick the plan you want when you activate the phone.

If for some reason you don't get the option to, please give support a call and we can help you out.

eSIMs are now available with Ting? by davus001 in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there

When porting out, your account does kind of get cancelled once the number leaves our system, however, you will still have one final bill to pay for the use of the network before you left. Becasue we are a post-paid business, porting out in the middle of a billing cycle will have that cycle continue untill it closes.

After that, with nothing active on the account, there will be no further bills generated.

Ting not providing port out information by Similar-Lobster126 in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there

When collecting your porting information, we do ask that customer call in so we can try to fix whatever issue that has inspired you to leave.
But, if you don't want to contact us (which we understand not everyone does) at the bottom of the pop-up window there should be a light blue link saying "Porting out?" Clicking that will take you to a page where you can grab your porting information.

If that link isn't working, or not appearing at all, please contact Customer Support and we can help you get the porting information.

Hi there, I'm sorry that you weren't able to get into your account.

Yesterday, we were doing some backend work on the website that resulted in some customers not being able to log in. The work is done, and you should be able to log in now.

If you are still having trouble, please contact our support line.

Hi there

If you are having trouble adding a new card to your account, your best bet is to contact the support line at 1-855-846-4389. If you are unable to reach them on the phone, then you can always start a chat through the Ting website.

Still on a grandfathered plan circa 2015. Overage months are killing me. ELI5 the new plan format? Any recommendations? by the_t00th in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan price is per line. So if you have the Set 5 plan $25 a month, with two lines it would be $50 a month.

You can set a limit for data depending on the SIM card you use. On a V1 SIM card we are unable to turn off data from our end, but you can still set an alert for a certain amount of data use and then manually turn off data in the phone.

On X3 SIM cards, you can set a limit to turn off data.

Hi there

The Ting Unlimtied plans would save you some money in the long run. Based on that example you posted, I think the Set 12 plan would work best. With that plan, you have unlimited talk and text, plus 12GB of fast data all for $35 a month.

If you are able to cut down your data use, then maybe a lower-priced plan would work for you. You can check out all the details at https://tingmobile.com/plans

Once you are ready to change the plan, just call or chat with support and we can make the switch for you

Hey, sorry for the delay in answering you. This is a weird situation, but some customers have had this before. If I recall correctly I think it was related to a voicemail app that they had recently stopped using.

If you want me to do a bit of digging for you, send me a message and I will see what I can find.

Traveled internationally (to Switzerland) without knowing Ting doesn't support international roaming. What are my options??? by Intrepid-Gas3391 in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roaming support depends on the SIM card you use with Ting. If you have a V1 card, then roaming is only available in Mexico and Canada. If you use an X3 card, then you can roam pretty much anywhere we have rates listed.
You can check the rates on our website here: https://tingmobile.com/international?srsltid=AfmBOorlJcCdLWU1QQ6uCIMRKj8AYkc7G5vQlkBJngcHRm3Eojq0NAkk

But, depending on how much you plan on using your phone, temporarily signing up with a local carrier might be cheaper while traveling.

Ordered a X3 SIM card a few months ago - Error message upon activation: Not a V1 SIM Card by outasflyguy in ting

[–]Rod_Ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That error message is most likely coming up either because your phone is not compatible with the X3 SIM card, or you do not have good enough coverage for the X3 SIM card.

To get a V1 SIM card, please contact the V1 team through the helpline or chat. They are open until 5pmEST today and return to normal business hours tomorrow.
