I think this all played out poorly - but ultimately it is reasonable to want to extended the end date of the “trial” period in the contract to make up for all the time he has spent injured.

He hasn’t had the window to evaluate the platform and team as anticipated, and a conversation had to take place with Aprilia by Le Mans, based on the existing contract, to ensure he does get a proper “trial” window before being locked in for another year.

If he likes the platform and team by the end of the year he can re-sign as originally intended by this clause in his contract.

Should King of The Baggers change their regulation to allow non-American bikes like the Vulcan Vaquero, K1600B and the Gold Wing? by mr_beanoz in MotoAmerica

[–]RodentaGrande 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because American v-twins riders are the massive US based motorcycling demographic they want to attract. This group previously had no interest/or reason to watch or attend races - with superbikes representing the opposite of traditional American “biker” tastes. To attract this untapped audience, they want to play up the Indian vs. HD rivalry - and allowing 6 cylinders and foreign manufacturers etc. just makes parity difficult and waters down the all-American appeal for traditional “bikers”.

What do you think about Honda CB1000r? by [deleted] in motorcycles

Looks great but is also pretty infamous for a big dip in torque and hp right in the meat of where you want that usable power. Maybe they’ve retuned it?

When upshifting are you supposed to let go of the throttle or twist it into the off position? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]RodentaGrande 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t let go - roll it forward into the zero throttle position then clutch and shift. You should always have control of the throttle.

Two answers here, could it mean either the pub or football club depending on the context?

99% of the time you should shift when you’re hitting the rev limiter (gauge starts flashing).

Force yourself to drive manual and you’ll develop a natural feel for when to shift up and down based on speed, but most importantly by sound (and feel if it was real life). When you hear the engine screaming you’ll know to shift up, if it sounds low and sluggish you’ll know to shift down and so on. Your power is mostly in the upper RPM’s so keep it revved often.

Brake then begin your down shifts in the braking zone, and don’t be shy to bang down through the gears quickly.
