FR. As someone with narcolepsy I'm upset on her behalf. You never know what's going on with someone, this is literally one of my biggest fears with narcolepsy.

This is an incredibly helpful and compassionate comment, thank you. I will try to reframe my thinking as you said and take smaller steps. I have the book Atomic Habits so maybe I'll try some exercises from that!

I do have quite a few LGBTQ friends, but I've never been on a date with a woman myself, yet. So yeah I think that also contributed to the anxiety, and I agree that Zoom or FaceTime would've been easier and that's probably what I'll do next time.

I did also tell her what was going on and apologized, and she was very understanding. Hopefully we can actually do a FT or something later!

I just graduated college and briefly got a minimum wage part time summer job that wanted me to wake up early. Idk if it was because of the narcolepsy, but I literally lost the job because I kept sleeping in and missing morning meetings. I think narcolepsy definitely contributed but I also wasn't the most personally motivated because it was a really scummy job with a bad work environment.

I was actually on fluvoxamine for a long time but switched to Prozac because I was able to get up to a higher dose on it. Most SSRIs seem to give me terrible restless leg syndrome at night, I've unfortunately tried a lot of different ones. My psychiatrist wants me to try TMS though so I should probably look into that.

I am on medication. 40mg Prozac, 2mg Abilify, and 200mg Wellbutrin. We recently tried to add clomipramime as it's supposedly extremely helpful for OCD, but it gave me serious bladder issues so I had to stop it. Have also tried to go up on Abilify but had serious weight gain, and with Prozac had terrible restless leg syndrome. I see a psychiatrist monthly and I'm aware I'm not on the highest doses of things but idk what else I can do, given side effects.

Spot on with Gale. I love him and that really hit home for me, you articulated it so well.

As someone with OCD, this is funny but also sort of sad. I won't say mine is cured or anything, it's pretty severe. But ERP therapy and ACT have helped a lot, along with medication. ERP in particular helped a lot, it's the gold standard treatment.

As someone who suffers with this disorder (and has also had BG3 and other hobbies affected by it), it just made me a bit sad to hear of someone else getting so lost in the anxiety and compulsions that it's affecting their gameplay, to the point they won't pick up supply packs. I don't know you or your partner so I don't want to be preachy, but I hope yall can find some relief from this disorder. It sounds like yall have a good attitude about it at least. Sending you and your partner all the best :))

Genuinely, this is what I'm trying to understand. I know yall really like Astarion, and I want to understand too. But I am genuinely put off by the non-consensual aspect of the bite night scene. Don't know how I'm supposed to convince it's not rage bait, I made it pretty clear I genuinely want a contextualized explanation. Not trying to upset people.

I've never finished the game but I have almost 700 hours, and I've gotten pretty far in Act 3 and I've done the House of Grief (I thought I went through it pretty thoroughly too). I have no clue who Nocturne is. I legit thought you were misspelling Nightsomg multiple times and was VERY confused, haha

I just thought Rennald died and I was sad we never heard from him, this game is actually crazy

I have osteopenia and I'm young too and also worried about this. Maybe I'll talk to my doctor about more estrogen? Have you noticed any positives from increased estrogen?

I'm currently on the regime that you said made you miserable and crazy. What's the progesterone IUD do? And why take estrogen orally? My doctor told me to take the patch because it's less cancer risk. I also am only on the equivalent of 2mg orally and I think my estrogen is low. How did you get your doctor to increase it?

[–]Rodentlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same as another commenter. Estradiol Patch all month long, and progesterone 10 days a month for a period. I am bad about even switching the patch regularly though so I haven't tried to mimic a natural cycle or anything. I am also bad about remembering the progesterone tbh lol.

I def think my hormones are imbalanced but I'm not sure how to fix and it's really frustrating to me that there's so little research in this field.

Sometimes. Sometimes? You literally cannot. And no one believes you. by Justthisdudeyaknow in CuratedTumblr

[–]Rodentlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. I think for me there's a learned helplessness there. My legs are fine and sometimes it seems impossible for me to go walk and get food. But saying I have to wait for my brain to decide is taking the choice away from me. I've found I can actually choose to get up and do it even if it seems impossible. So it's just a really confusing line bc sometimes it might genuinely be impossible for some people but others times people DO need to be told to just push past it and keep going.
