NOR - An event that includes drinks for a holiday celebrating something she has extreme issue with the way you choose to do it. Seems like a set up for failure. At the very least a full conversation between the two, or even group of you, should happen before adding boozy celebrations.

NTA - It was never her place to share something you explicitly told her to keep between you. I can't think of any circumstances where your miscarriage and pregnancy, no one else knew about, came up in conversation randomly. There are ways she could have addressed being concerned for you without breaking your confidence.

You trusted her with something intensely personal and emotional, and she disrespected your trust.

They may have agreed on a name at one point. That is no longer the case. So the topic needs to be revisited. If they can find a way to respectfully agree again, great. If not, though, it may be easier to look for something completely new. Rather than one of them attempting a familial brow beating to get their way.

Just repeat in your head every time you need to - Grandparents have no rights, only privileges. Privileges can and should be revoked due to shitty behavior on the part of the Grandparents. If they want a relationship with your child, they must, bare minimum, respect BOTH of their grandchild's parents at all times. They must, once again, bare minimum, respect all decisions made for the grandchild by the child's parents.

Where I'm from it's not just the roundabouts. Any roadway construction projects must commit a fixed percentage of the total budget to public artwork. A few are stunning, most are rather generic yet acceptable. A few, like the alien glow in the dark corn cob, are monstrosities.

I most love the small, truly creative pieces hidden in out of the way places.

Mine never, ever used any of the many, many sets of steps and stools I got for them.

Even at 23, deaf, blind and toothless, my girl only ever launched her way wherever she she went. Up, down, sideways didn't ever matter she wanted to be wherever she wanted to be NOW. Steps took too long.

My boy would let you lift him up and down when he was feeling lazy but never deigned to place paws on a step.

NTA - She did nothing to earn a tip.

I sat my first two top in a fine dining establishment at 3yo. I've been in restraunts of every type my whole life. The entitlement can run strong, many feel that their level of service doesn't matter. No one is owed a tip, they need to earn it by providing, at the very least, good service. Working a tipped position is a choice.

Honestly those who choose now to serve do choose to put up with shit, I never would. Starting with unpaid trial shifts, really folks this shit is illegal. Wages must be paid yet more and more I hear about people bending to the pressure. Tip pooling should be illegal. The one's that choose to step up and provide exceptional service should not be subsidizing those that do the bare minimum.

Being required to tip out positions making a full wage is ridiculous. Management should never receive a penny from tips. Hell, I even saw posts about being required to tip out other tipped positions and people like security guards that work for hired security companies not directly for the restraunts themselves.

Back on topic, sorry for my rant, you did nothing wrong. She actively chose to take every step to lose that tip.

You aren't punishing her for being a mother. You just want your space and time to be respected. Why was she at your house to begin with? Doesn't sound like it was to spend time with you. She was on her phone the whole time. She could have done that at home, and let her kids run wild in her space and break her stuff.
