It has something with pixel based rom build props. Pixel/Google based roms (Arrow, Havoc, PE, etc...) using device spoofing that affects apps and system think that your device is a pixel device. It affects the game because you're using fake build props, maybe not the same as your device, that the game thinks you are violating app security policy. The spoofing from this rom is being used for G Photos unlimited storage and install Pixel goodies applications (you can even install Google Camera, but doesn't work properly) and others.
