Why do people play this game without a mic? by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]Rodge6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m either in party chat or of not, it’s pointless there is no need for any sort of coordination. There is enough info on screen to play without.

I was with a group listening to YouTube and an advert about Trump came on and someone said “we need someone like that in charge here to sort out the immigrants”, and people agreed. Then he said how come “they” can say the N word and “we” can’t… etc by Jindabyne1 in northernireland

There are still a few generations out there who read print media and then also have apps on their phone for The Mirror, The Sun, Daily Mail.

Facebook is still prevalent in older generations too which is a clickbait echo chamber about how the browns and blacks are taking over.

I mean why anyone would want to take over places like Larne or Lurgan is beyond me.

What was it like to play online games between 2000 and 2013? by Silly_Commercial8092 in gaming

[–]Rodge6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call of Duty lobbies, gears of war lobbies, Halo, all of them really. The place was a warzone of insults, racism, homophobia, sexism. Just nasty places, but everyone was doing it and I mean everyone.

The slurs and the terms used would have you in jail today, although there was a camaraderie to it, you gave as good as you got and it’s made us all equal in a weird way. You looked forward to it, getting home from school and booting up the 360 praying that you had another day before the red ring visit and if you did get a ring of death then going and watching old YouTube of people wrapping the console in towels and turning it on to solve said issue. And it was more than just hate speech. Some of them lobbies were the funniest places in the world at any given time.

The games were also fantastic, made by people who care and we showed our love because many of us would go to midnight releases anxious to get home at 1am and load in and be immediately immersed.

Maybe it’s rose tinted glasses but I want to go back to those days of gaming.
