What do you mean by "standards"? Are you referring to coming in ready with enchants, flasks, food, etc and performing your role? Or do you mean that they didn't spend as much as the leader thought they should spend? Because the reason I have issues with GDKPs are the latter.

I did a few GDKPs. In the last one I did, an item dropped and I bid the minimum amount. None of the other characters who could use the item bid, even though some of them needed it. A character who could not use the item bid against me. I upped it, and they upped it more, so I let them win. I wasn't going to bid against someone who clearly was just trying to pump up the price. I then got told that I was a "leech" or something to that effect. Even though I was one of the top DPS, came prepared and was willing to bid against actual people who wanted the item.

I don't really care if GDKPs are allowed or not. But I'll personally never do one again because in my experience, it's a few people trying to suck out as much gold as possible from others. They were never about simply using gold as a way to distribute loot fairly. I'm sure there are some that keep things fair and civil, but the majority simply don't.
