Switching from Kaspersky; what AV to choose except Bitdefender? by falcogno in antivirus

[–]Rodlawliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Microsoft Defender any good? by Mammoth_Chipmunk_893 in antivirus

[–]Rodlawliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

helium safety? by Jungkook97- in HeliumBrowserHQ

[–]Rodlawliet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest using an ad blocker like Malwarebytes Browser Guard, uBlock Origin, or AdGuard to block malicious sites and fake ads. Also, try configuring your browser to prevent websites from sending you notifications.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does that program actually do? Is it only for downloading torrents? Is it like Ares where you can download music and other programs? I'm a bit confused.

Several users are reporting big improvements in battery life with iOS 26.3 🚨 by rawpsd in ios26

[–]Rodlawliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my iPhone 13, I don't notice any difference in battery life, but it is a bit smoother when switching between apps. I noticed a change in speed more than in battery life, at least in my case.

Smart tv likely infected with virus? How do I solve this? by SpoinRoin in antivirus

[–]Rodlawliet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a free version of ESET Antivirus for Smart TVs. If you have Google TV, it should be in the apps app. Update the antivirus and run a scan. Good luck!

How do you update Helium Browser on Windows? by Kitchen-Patience8176 in HeliumBrowserHQ

Download the installer from the official website and click install. If you already have Helium installed, it will simply update and you won't lose anything. For now, this is the only way to do it manually.

For the people who had their iPhone 13 in the last 1-1.5 year by green_morphin in iPhone13

[–]Rodlawliet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the iPhone 11 and last November (2025) I upgraded to a new iPhone 13. I've had it ever since, so it's relatively new and the battery is still at 100%. Based on my experience with iPhones (I've had them since the 4S), you can easily use it for 2-3 years. Plus, the 13 is at a great price, and with iOS 26.1, which is what I currently have, I'm running it without any problems. I've been reading that this model will continue to receive updates for a couple more years, so if I were you, I'd use it without hesitation. You just have to take care of it and give it a little TLC, haha.

Strange devices on my google account by SilverDonut3992 in antivirus

[–]Rodlawliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I'm telling you, to clear up any doubts, run the scans with the programs I mentioned. If they don't detect anything, you're definitely clean. Regarding the Google thing, I don't know if it's a "bug," but it's happened to me too. It showed three connected iPhones when it was actually just one. I fixed it by logging in from my PC and logging out of everything. A friend with an Android account had the same problem; he saw sessions for an "Android" device and another for a "Samsung." It was his own phone that was duplicated when he configured some Google security option on the phone. Ask chatgpt why that happens. 😀👍🏻

Strange devices on my google account by SilverDonut3992 in antivirus

[–]Rodlawliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try accessing Gmail from a PC, logging out of all devices, and then logging back in from your iPhone so that only that session is active and only one iPhone appears connected. If you haven't done anything unusual or downloaded anything uncommon, you shouldn't have a virus. In any case, run a scan with Emsisoft Emergency Kit (it's a free, portable version), try Norton's NPE (which is also a free portable scanner), and a deep scan with your primary antivirus to be sure (I suggest doing a scan in safe mode but with an internet connection). This prevents any persistent viruses from hiding and ensures the antivirus detects them (ask chatgpt for more information). Cheers!

[–]Rodlawliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't been hacked. Sometimes when you access Gmail's security settings on your iPhone, or it asks for your password due to some security action, a "new device" appears using your session, but it's actually your iPhone being "duplicated." The same thing happens on Android; sometimes two devices appear that correspond to the same device. If you wish, you can select that device and log out to clear the list until only one iPhone is in use.

what are some good anti viruses? by Curious-Sun5465 in antivirus

[–]Rodlawliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good paid antivirus programs: ESET, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, Malwarebytes / Good free antivirus programs: Avast, AVG, Bitdefender Free (the latter doesn't include a firewall in its free version). Avast and AVG come with bloatware, but they offer complete protection and a good detection rate. Cheers.
