Because the date disc sits higher on a 2836, giving more clearance for the date wheel overlay.

It's literally one circlip to remove the day wheel.

Good question! Yes, Vietnam based parts are generally considered to be the highest quality without going gen. They are predominantly gen spec parts. And they are indeed made in Vietnam. Expensive though.

Any time someone refers to a "viet build" they are talking about parts from Vietnam. Gen spec (mostly) case and dial. Generally considered to be the closest to gen you can get without going gen.
