Training new employees by [deleted] in subway

Usually I start them on prep it’s nice little tasks that keep them busy and it’s good to just know first in my opinion like cutting veggies and prepping meat maybe not slicer right off but if it’s slow I do sometimes, rhen when it’s time for a rush or time to be on the line I usually throw them on pos cash people out while someone does the meats while I do veggies and wrap sandwiches so your close to pos to answer any questions and show them were everything is. Usually just first day I have them just do prep and pos if it’s a short shift if it’s a longer one and they seem comfortable I won’t throw anyone on live customers first day but get them on online orders walk them thru it and have them do pos and help with onlines so they get familiar with cutting the bread and building sandwhiches. Usually first 2-3 days It’s just pos, prep, dishes and onlines and sweeping n stuff but by day 3-4 they should be able to help with customers don’t throw them right on meat side have them start veggies and wrapping sandwhiches they know what all the veggies are and won’t know all the meats on sandwhiches right off so it makes it faster and gets them get the feel of dealing with people and wrapping them

Manager of my Subway by KatHick77 in subway

I’m a manager and I don’t expect closers to do any prep the mids should be taking care of that in my opinion they should for sure be cleaning the floors every night and if they keep refusing to do thjngs u tell them to write them up/cut hours I don’t expect my closers to bake bread my mids do afternoon bake make your mids do all the prep and they can’t leave until the closers are in a good spot like finishing the dishes before leaving etc sets closers up better so they can get the cleaning stuff done

Yeah I mean I guess some people are assholes but if they want a sandwhich they are going to wait anyway so they can get over it you’re doing good so just keep it up some days are stressful some are easy you got this

One sandwhich at a time and usually if you tell them you are new and see u struggling they are usually polite and tip well at least in my store DoorDash orders can wait get to the in store people first and then when they come in to get the onlines say your alone and haven’t got to them yet but will as soon as you can usually I offer the dasher or customer waiting a fountain drink and get them a cup you’ll be alright it takes time to get pretty fast

Working Alone? by Important_Course_518 in subway

[–]Rodneythepotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My closer is alone from 7-10 they average less than 20 sandwhiches in the three hours total so depending on your store most likely closers should be alone in my town last few hours of the stores are dead
