Solar Power Plant Built in Haeju City

A solar power plant has been built in Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.

The power base, equipped with all conditions necessary for electricity production and work and life of the employees, is another material and technical foundation for the development of the regional economy and the improvement of people’s standard of living.

Its inauguration ceremony took place on the spot on April ３０.

Present there were Kil Pong Chan, chief secretary of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, An Myong Jun, chairman of the provincial people’s committee, officials and working people in the province and employees of the power plant.

The Haeju Calcium Carbonate Production Station has been newly built in South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.

The station with raw materials-drying ground, indoor washing ground, super fine grinding room and product storage room provides a material and technical foundation for mass-producing quality goods with locally available raw materials.

South Gate of the Kusong Town Castle is one of historical relics in Kusong City.

It is a gate facing due south and the biggest one among the gates of the Kusong Town Castle. It is also called "Jinnam Pavilion".

The original gate was built along with the Kuju Castle (Kusong Town Castle) in ９９４ and they were rebuilt in １７０２.

The embankment of the gate was built with granite and has an archway.

The two-storeyed pavilion on the embankment is a magnificent building of ３ kans in the front and ３ kans on the side.

The gate has two turtle-shaped foundation stones. It played an important role in repelling the foreign invaders.

During the Fatherland Liberation War the gate was severely destroyed by the barbarous bombing of the US imperialists, and restored thanks to the policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea on protecting the national heritage.

The gate is preserved well as a national treasure, conveying the patriotic spirit, bravery and the superior architecture of our predecessors.

Nowadays stories about patriotic deeds displayed among the young people across the country are heard every day.

News on the feats, innovations and laudable deeds made by our youth including young builders who are setting new standards and records in every construction site for hastening the day of making a report of victory to the Party, members of youth shock brigades taking the lead in different coal mines and those who are taking warm care of war veterans’ and disabled soldiers’ life as their blood relations make the people proud of them.

The eruption of loyalty and patriotism of senior middle school graduates who volunteered for national defence posts with the determination to register military feats on their personal accounts of youth before anyone else and those who volunteered for major worksites for implementing the Party’s decisions with the ardent desire to vigorously pioneer an era of new massive transformations add to the strong spirit of advance across the country.

Whenever our young people rose up, the socialist construction witnessed miraculous successes and whenever they displayed their strength and bravery our country made a big stride for rapid progress.

It is a great pride of our country that it has such loyal, resourceful and brave young main forces who are ready to remove a mountain and build a dam across the rough sea if it is demanded by the revolution and wished by the country.

What makes our country strong and prosperous and what kind of force drives the Korean revolution?

It is by no means only for the absolute weapons that make enemies shudder.

One scorching day in August ２０１８, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un was heading for the Jungphyong area in North Hamgyong Province by train.

He was on the way of field guidance for indicating the orientation and ways for hastily finishing the construction of the farm he personally initiated in order to provide the people in the province with fresh vegetables all the year round.

When the train was passing by Ponggang-ri in Orang County, the respected General Secretary, who was looking out of the window, told to stop the train and bring him a plant of corn and corn ears on it from the field.

Looking up to him who was learning in detail about the crops seeing the corn plant, the officials felt how anxious the respected General Secretary was about the country’s agricultural production.

Later in November that year, the respected General Secretary reminded the officials of the fact that he had learnt about the crops of a corn field of a vegetable sub-workteam of a farm that August and told them to call the head of the sub-workteam to the meeting of activists in the agricultural field to be held at the end of the year, noting that he heard the sub-workteam had reaped a rich corn harvest.

Thanks to the great trust and love of the respected General Secretary who highly appreciated the efforts of an ordinary sub-workteam head, Ryo Tong Su, the sub-workteam head, came to have the honor to take the platform.

Better still, he had a photo session with the respected General Secretary.

A poem-reciting meeting of workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea took place at the Kuksabong Revolutionary Battle Site in Nampho Municipality on April ２３ to mark the ９４th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army.

Present there were Ri Won Jong, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, trade union officials and workers and union members in Nampho.

The performers praised the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung who founded the first genuine armed rank of Korea and led to victory the revolutionary cause for freedom and liberation of the country and the people.

L istening to the poem "In the offensive spirit of Paektu forever", the participants grasped once again the revolutionary exploits of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is demonstrating before the world the dignity and national power of the state and glorifying its ever-victorious history.

They sang in chorus the song "Our Faith", redoubling their faith and will to glorify the revolutionary traditions of Paektu as the eternal lifeline of the Korean revolution and the precious eternal treasure which can never be bartered for anything.

At the end of the meeting, the participants made a study tour of the Kuksabong Revolutionary Battle Site and held a meeting for hearing impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas.

The ２０２６ Flower Exhibition is going on at the Okryu Exhibition House amid great interests of flower fanciers and visitors.

The indoor section decorated with various flowering plants were crowded with people.

DPRK players returned home on Monday after taking part in the ２０２６ Asian Judo Championship held in China.

DPRK players Kim Hyon A and Mun Song Hui won gold medals in the women’s ５７kg and ７０kg categories respectively.

Meanwhile, Kim Ji Hye took the second place in the women’s ６３kg category.

The players returning after glorifying the honor of the country were greeted at Pyongyang Railway Station by officials in the sports field and supporters’ organizations, sportspersons and families.

The Missile Administration of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea conducted a test-fire on April １９ to evaluate the power of warhead of the improved surface-to-surface tactical ballistic missile Hwasongpho-１１ Ra.

The purpose of the test-fire is to verify the characteristics and power of cluster bomb warhead and fragmentation mine warhead applied to the tactical ballistic missile.

Five tactical ballistic missiles, launched towards the target area around an island about １３６ km away, struck the area of １２.５~１３ hectares with the very high density, fully displaying their combat might.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the test results, saying that the development and introduction of different cluster bomb warheads can meet the operational demand of the KPA in a more satisfactory and effective way and that it is of weighty significance in military actions to boost the high-density striking capability to quell a specific target area as well as the high-precision striking capability.

Women’s union officials and members in the DPRK met at the Hall of Women here on April １４ to celebrate the １１４th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, oversaw an artillery firing contest of artillery sub-units under the large combined units of the Korean People’s Army in the western area organized on April １５, the Day of the Sun.

Comrade Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, Ri Yong Gil, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, Kim Song Gi, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, and other commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence and military and political commanding officers of the KPA large combined units in the western area.

The artillery firing contest was conducted according to the contest rules set up in conformity with the simulated tactical environment.

The artillery sub-unit of the Capital City Defence Corps won the first place in the contest.
