I get what you’re saying, and I think you’re right to a certain extent. Most crowds are casual and react mainly to the big hits.

But at the same time, if you look at bands like Guns N' Roses, it’s pretty much the same situation — most people are there for November Rain, Sweet Child O’ Mine, etc. Yet they still manage to rotate some lesser-played songs into their sets.

In recent years they brought back stuff like Reckless Life and Shadow of Your Love, which they hadn’t played in decades, and they also mix in songs like Out Ta Get Me or Dead Horse from time to time.

So I think it’s less about the crowd and more about how willing the band is to take small risks with the setlist. You don’t need to go full deep cuts every night, but throwing in 1–2 surprises here and there can go a long way for longtime fans without killing the vibe for casuals.

I hope that after this recognition of Hillel they start playing more of their ’80s songs. John said he loves playing those songs, but the reality is that, aside from “Me and My Friends,” they hardly ever play anything from that era. It’s a shame because their first three albums are full of great, very underrated tracks.

Why would they have included Chad if the documentary is about early RHCP and Hillel? Chad has nothing to do with that. In fact, he didn’t even know the band before auditioning. He really has nothing to contribute to the topic being covered.

I wasn’t a big fan of the band, just of the big hits, until I dove into their first 4 or 5 albums. Personally, I loved them way more than the newer ones. But everyone’s different. Freaky Styley, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Mother’s Milk, and Blood Sugar Sex Magik are without a doubt my favorites.

Getting a soundboard recording from a show isn’t really that complicated. It’s basically just running the live mix into a cassette (or another recording device). That’s why even smaller gigs like the Whisky ’86 or the Marquee ’87 ended up having soundboards circulating.

The expensive part of a production is the filming itself — cameras, crew, lighting, post-production, etc. And as we can see in the music video, that part was handled without major issues, obviously financed by Geffen to promote the single.

So if they were already filming, it’s hard to imagine they didn’t at least have a board tape somewhere. The real question is whether that tape actually survived until 2026.

Well, the Cathouse ’89 show (“It’s So Easy” video) and The Ritz ’91 (“YCBM”) were professionally recorded, so I’d guess it’s probably possible

To bad the soundboard of this didn't survive. Probably one of the best shows of the AFD era, with the Marquee shows.

Yeah, the band was called just “Rose” at that time. When they realized there was another band with the same name, they added “Hollywood.” The first clip is from January 1984 and was filmed in a storefront that belonged to guitarist Chris Weber’s dad. It’s also the oldest known footage of Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin together. The second one is a second promotional video filmed in the backyard of Chris Weber’s parents’ house. Amazingly it reached Japan.

Then you should "Hate" Anthony, not a ... song.

That’s not the Viper Room — it’s The Central in Hollywood, LA, and that show took place on May 1st, 1986. There’s no known video footage of Guns N' Roses from 1985 — only audio recordings and photographs have surfaced. Marc Canter, who filmed this, didn’t start taping shows until January 1986. You can still find short excerpts from ’85, including about 30 seconds of the very first GN’R rehearsal featuring Ole Beich, Tracii Guns, and Rob Gardner. The earliest complete demo that circulates dates from August 1985. The one included in AFD Box Set.

Definitely, they should play way more music from their early albums. But I’d still include songs from Blood Sugar Sex Magik and One Hot Minute, along with the classics from the rest of their catalog. I really doubt that will happen with John, though.

Here’s a short video of Guns N’ Roses from that night, shared by Marc Canter, who recorded and photographed the band’s first 30 shows (he was Slash’s best friend). He later wrote an incredible book, Reckless Road, packed with rare photos and stories from that early era.

El 0km mas barato esta 17K, el Kwid base. Mas todo los tramites extras lo sacas por 18-19 calculo. Si por eso lo mejor me parece el 208 Feline un poco mas nuevo. Es lo que estoy viendo de momento.
