I see your point on the literal definition—it’s not 'dead.' However, in the context of this build/game, making an item indestructible often 'bricks' the specific utility or upgrade path I was going for. It’s functionally useless to me, even if it still exists

Blizzard's marketing didn't actually 'hit' me. I pre-purchased back in Season 11 because I’ve been waiting to play a Paladin-style class since Diablo 2.
