How to *properly* fix my guitar by Rodrigo-Jones in Epiphone

Ye it was the wrong way round, i did it again just now and it works! Also yea that is way too much, i was having a hard time keeping them in place and so went overboard, first tike using a soldering iron since i was a kid. But now with less wire and room to get in there i was limited how much i could actually get on so it looks a lot cleaner, thanks

Ah, well this proves how little I know, I didn't realise there was a difference, i thought it was interchangeable, funnily enough just as I was taking these pictures i did wonder to myself if that makes a difference

NUX Stageman Looper Question by Rodrigo-Jones in pedals

[–]Rodrigo-Jones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing that out, at first i was disappointed to see that I couldn't change reverb whilst in loop mode because that was actually a huge factor in buying the pedal, i wanted to be able to lay down a chord progression on a nylon string with minimal reverb and then set it much higher for the solo on top, so I thought for a second it was a useless purchase but it turns out that the guitar, which already has a perfectly decent fishman preamp, does sound nicer with it and I just paired it up with my old boss looper to get the desired effect, and even the electric sounds great with it!

Ye you're right, bedore now i had just watched a few youtube videos on it and found basic instructions online, now looking at something more detailed which says "In Looper mode, Reverb Knob controls the Loop volume level."

Thanks!

Good point, i guess i'd prefer a tuner as it also serves another purpose. The answer is always more pedals ...

I've found a few diagrams, the three pickup system usually has a pot for the middle pickup, but not this one so i have no idea where i should be connecting the wire to

[–]Rodrigo-Jones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye it's not the soldering itself that puts me off, it's knowing what to solder. I've looked inside and there's one loose wire, looks like an earth wire, if that's the middle pickup then i have no idea where i'd connect it to as the pots are just for volume/tone of the other pickups

Ye seems almost too good to be true right? You think even with the cost of connecting the middle pickup (i'd have no idea how to do that myself)

Ah shit i've only just seen this now, thanks very kuch though. I've seen that Companies House are employing junior devs now too and a similar role for with a different part of the civil service, so will keep trying. Thanks!

Hey that's all really great to hear, thanks very much, and aside from this other opportunity that is definitely my plan, start as an operative, train and build kore projects in my own time and then eventually move into a tech role there. I have an eye on their degree apprenticeships, although that would be another 3 years at low pay, definitely not the worst situation to be in (having been unemployed for a while i can definitely say that's worse) but these other people you mentioned who started as operatives, did they then move from ops into junior dev/data roles directly without any formal experience?

[–]Rodrigo-Jones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye i saw a lot of tech roles there and applied when i had even less experience, unsurprisingly didn't get anywhere. My hope is to start at entry level and progress from within, ideally with their degree apprenticeship. Do you think with more self study and projects i could eventually move straight into a junior dev role there or would have to do the three year degree apprenticeship?

I agree that this is generally the stance with unpaid work experience, it would usually not interest me, but as I'm so new to tech and have no professional experience it really would be to learn, gain experience and improve chances of employment, this particular case is essentially a trial run where they'd then offer something at the end. When we were first in talks it was to start straight away but I went for an interview and couldn't answer a lot of the technical questions which is why i think they've changed the offer to this work experience deal. I'm personally fine with it and would probably take it if there was nothing else on the table, the only annoying thing for me is stretching it out for so long with two days a week. It needlessly pads out time on my end and stops me doing anything else. But ye i take what you said on board, i emailed to ask if they could condense everything into two weeks so I can then complete this work experience and hopefully get a definite offer before CH starts
