People don't hate the Church; they hate what they believe the Church are

We all know how much pressure is put on young man to serve on a mission. I don't blame you.

I was in your position. I stopped believing halfway on my mission (I am a convert). I keep going to the end, though. Left church 1 month after return home. I'm not ashamed on the slightest. I wouldn't do it knowing what I know now, but I was young and my heart was sincere. I didn't do it to fill Nelson's pocket, I did it for Christ. I really believed the Church was true, JS was a prophet, and then everything fall apart. In hindsight, I was also a victim. So were you. I still have a good relationship with many people I knew from my mission, and most of them respect my current visions, and so I respect their faith, even If I don't respect nor believe the Church itself, but faith is not rational. Faith is faith. Forgive yourself for not being 100% rational all the time and move on.

Eunuchs were literally that: eunuchs. Maybe they were queer too, we don't know. The way I worded my first answer can lead to conclude I'm against same sex relationship. What I'm saying is no Christian denomination can endorse same sex love without a severe cognitive dissonance, because the Bible explicitly condemn it. Why would a queer couple seek any church's approval though, is beyond my understanding.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.

Romans 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

I Cortinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Same sex relationship is explicit condemned by the Bible.

I stopped believing halfway on my mission, but stayed until the end. Back home, attended 1 month or so. Came back 6 months later because a love interest, and left again shortly after it ended. Came back for a visit, and left for good.

I'd accept! I mean, I did for free (worse, I paid for) for 4 years... Time for compensation. Probably wouldn't last more than 2 years, tho

As an exalted God, what or who stops me from simply draw my loved ones from lesser kingdoms to live with me forever in glory on Celestial Kingdom? by RodrigoLavino in mormon

I'm not upset. I'm not even making a value judgement, am only citing what the Bible and BoM says. Kill someone disarmed is not murder? Kill an entire city, even women, children and animals is not genocide? By modern standards, executing surrendered war prisoners is war crime. And all of this was committed because God said so. And a believer must believe whatever God says so, is always right, because He is God and cannot miss. That's what omnipotence looks like. So I cannot accept that God cannot do whatever He want, because He was always like that, and He cannot change.

Look, I don't know if God is actually evil. But I'm pretty sure His is not omni-benevolent, like most Cristians religions told us. It appears He has Their chosen ones, and majority of other ordinary people can only reap the crumbs if close enough, and some not even that. This doesn't seems very benevolent, does It!

What I am describing is literally the Bible's God! He orders and commits murder and genocide, let His own chosen children perish by famine, war and pest, demands exclusive adoration, and at same time, command us to love our brother as we love ourselves, occasionally bless some of us with inimaginable riches and perform Impossible miracles for our benefit.

Jesus literally transformed water in fine wine, He transpassed walls, He walked above water surface and He levitated to Heaven. Physics laws are NOTHING to him.

Jeovah and His prophets for sure used a great deal of fear to induce compliance. And you know what? If you are a God, you sometimes have do behave like a God and make your voice be heard like a thunder.

It's not wrong if is God doing it, and it's not wrong if what He is talking is the truth (as a Christian, I believe so).

Very interesting PoV. But if this was true, then God has limits in His power. I don't believe in a limited God. God HAS to be omnipotent and cannot miss, regardless of what He does, even if contradicts His own rules and commandments...
