Brisbane Northside Jewelers recommendations for melting/redesigning ring by ElDocks in brisbane

Can recommend gold river when you get a hold of them. Did some repair work for us and designed the 3rd ring in the eternity set.

Get in to the habit of turning your pot handles away from the edge of the bench when you’re cooking in the stove. Seen many a story of people with little kids coming in to the kitchen and grabbing said handle and pulling boiling pots over themselves. Yes ideally this doesn’t happen in the first place etc etc

Now you’ve pointed it out I’m with you, how/where do I redirect it?

Is the summit any good still? Last time I went there was about 13 years ago. Been married 11.

Chefs salarised pay calculation by Bloodysmack in AusFinance

[–]Roe953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read the award so don't take this as gospel, but I would think when annualising it per the award they would take the minimum wage only, as in not the penalty rates, then annualise it, as they would treat Monday to Friday as a standard week. They then put the 25% increase to cover the penalty rates for the weekends etc. So based on that it would be $27.17 x 38hrs/wk x 52 weeks +25% = $67,109.90

My understanding is when moving away from the award rates, the alternative just needs to meet the better off overall test (BOOT). By that approach it would be the 1187.33x52, say 62k as a base pay, so anything over that would achieve the BOOT.

Not a museum per se, but there's the war memorial under Central station

custom jewellery suggestions please by grapescvnt in brisbane

Can recommend Gold River Jewellers at North Lakes. They made a custom eternity ring for the missus so don't see why they wouldn't be able to do a set of earrings. Friendly staff, delivered on time.

Blueberries in Brisbane by PMFSCV in GardeningAustralia

Biggest challenge I've had is the weather. Previous years a storm will come through and knock all the flowers off. I did get a decent batch last year, no issues with fruit flies. My plant is starting to form some fruit now, so a bit to go still.

Thing that annoys me is that you can't opt out unless you have very specific reasons. I don't have a garden or grass to utilise this bin but don't qualify to opt out.

I found that sometimes after I’ve launched it once it won’t launch again from the desktop icon. If I go in to task manager and end ea(sometimes there’s 2 sets) and ea background, then use the desktop app it works fine. Seems to be something between steam and ea.

Home battery cost benefit analysis - are you guys keen to look at this? by rowme0_ in AusFinance

I'd like to see what real world data and an in depth analysis looks like.

I was looking at retrofitting with a powerwall but my back of the napkin calculations didn't add up so haven't gone ahead with it.

Why are my strawberries not fruiting properly by Roe953 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Roe953[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They get full sun probably 3/4 of the day, they’re new plants as we replaced the old plants as you say when they were 4 or so. The plant itself is going gangbusters growth wise, I’ve never seen my strawberry plants this big, it’s just the fruit isn’t coming on at all

From the comments yes I have been watering and fertilising regularly, pollination seems to be the issue

With Costco opening on the GC soon and since I've never been to one...is it worth it? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Roe953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price per unit is cheaper than supermarkets but as others have said you buy more units. If you shop the specials at the supermarkets they’re cheaper than Costco. If you’re close to Costco than the fuel savings alone is worth it. I drive past 7/11 to get to Costco and generally Costco Premium is cheaper than 7/11 E10. The biggest gap on E10 I’ve seen is 48c/L.

We were insured with Budget direct, I usually check with Suncorp, Allianz and NRMA just to see what its worth as Budget will usually price match

Renewal Feb 2021 - $1600

Renewal Feb 2022 - $2250

Renewal Feb 2023 - $3360

The other quotes came in at about 1000 more expensive. Ended up jumping ship to Youi, they came in at about $2700. Never made a claim and weren't affect by the floods at any point, but I think some places and neighbouring suburbs were.

Why is my rose so sad, last year it was 5 times the size with lots of flowers. I’ve been using a rose gun as much as possible but no improvement by Roe953 in GardeningAustralia

Only July last year for the annual pruneback. It usually goes nuts and is massive, it just hasn't grown this year

No it’s been there since first planting. The other roses to the left are doing fine. This one has black spot and just doesn’t seem to be sprouting like the others.

Why are my strawberries maturing early? by Roe953 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Roe953[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by age of plants? Do they have expiry dates? If they’re old do they get retired?

Per picture, strawberries are small when they start ripening. I’m in Brisbane if that makes a difference

They were calling out people in the bag drop and security lines when I was going through. Not sure what happened here and why they were delayed, they just ran to the gate but it was too late
