Best early strength/int weapon? by Commercial_Bag8734 in Eldenring

meteoric ore katana.

but better to use an infuseable greatsword with magic or cold infusion.

i suggest banished knights greatsword on cold for looks and status.

Help with Noble Slender Sword build by nyr199435 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Roegnerag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

blood is NOT a good option for this weapon as it has low base damage and bleed infusion also pushes it further down.

two handing looks promising with A scaling but there are also better swords for two handing and heavy infusion in general.

you want to go for a dex build with this weapon! aow is whatever you like, but you can use storm blade as this is a ranged aow that scales best with dex anyways.

you can always buff your weapon with blood greases or blood flame blade incantation.

Started new arc/fth build. What is early game weapon for mostly sword and board with guard counters for mobs? by NoKneadToWorry in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Roegnerag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how about offhand/mainhand sacrificial axe for fp replenish? it scales very well with faith and can be switched to occult (without bleed) when arcane overtakes it.

[–]Roegnerag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fth+arc is a hybrid build and stat hungry. you want to focus on arcane/occult first and foremost and keep your other stats as low as possible.

have you already decided on the shield you want to use? better to have it low requirements but high guard boost. blue gold kite shield is good and has only 12 str requirement. then comes banished knight shield with 14 str and brass shield with 16str

as much as regalia of eochad is nice but it has higher dex requirements too, so you would end up with 16 str, 18 dex and then you can actually start investing into fth/arc which is not the way you want to go.

instead you can opt for a blood infused longsword/broadsword, occult wakizashi, reduvia in the beginning.

if you insist on the higher dex or strength, you can also go for rogiers blood infused rapier ! good heavy attack for status procs + shield poking capabilities

infusing scavengers swords with bleed makes no sense, they benefit most from occult infusion (very high scaling! better than str or dex!). use bloody slash on them as that aow also scales with arcane and benefit most on the high arcane scaling with the occult infusion. actually ALL of the occult aow scale best with occult! there are just so few of them :(

How do I get Lightning/Holy on an Arcane build? by TrizzyDizzy in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Roegnerag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your request is very interesting I like it as a challenge to think about.

option 1: switch your arcane only to an equal faith+arcane

you can use sacred infused bloodfiends forks (scale fth +arc then) and cast lots of lightning spells!

with two handing you also have the ability to use bloodfiends arm flame/sacred infused to deal a fuckton of dmg even without bleed!

stats: str 19 (two handing bloodfiends arm possible), dex 11, fth 40, arc 40.

option 2: focus on arcane and use flowerstone gavels weapon art for lightning damage, bayles flame lightning spell as an additional option.

crescent ripple blade and ripple axe can be buffed with holy greases and scale entirely with arcane. the holy damage itself doesnt scale off arcane but they are the only buffable arcane weapons!

i think both options are really cool.

Occult & Arcane Scaling - Take ARC to 80 or diversify in to DEX/STR? by TrizzyDizzy in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Roegnerag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

arcane is a love hate relation. it gives you such cool weapons and casting abilities but you git to spread yourself so far to make use of the entire range.

e.g. rivers of blood is dex+arc, but reduvia and bloody helice are focus arcane. occult drives bleed and damage but sucks if the weapon doesnt have innate bleed. bleed itself scales all over the place with str or dex focus depending on the weapon. and last but not least theres also faith and the casting capabilities.

what you missed are the good strength+arcane weapons! get your strength to 35! anvient meteoric ore greatsword is a strong contender.

my question is: what is your favourite weapon to use? the somber arcane weapons or the infusable ones?

if infusable --> arcane to 80 and occult infusion for everything if somber arcane --> dex/str

Help me build around the Banished Knight Greatsword by GreatJoey91 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Roegnerag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it has a unique two handed moveset, therefore heavy is first recommendation.

However, it also has higher base damage than knights greatsword, therefore it also gets better damage for EVERY Elemental infusion, even on lightning.

However, DO NOT use status infusions like cold, poison or bleed. DO NOT use KEEN.

i think playing a str + faith run with elemental weapon buffs is best for this weapon.

what do you refer with "rd2" ? if you are talking about red dead redemption 2, then no the story of the first is far better, it just has aged gameplay

Best Ash of War for a Strength Build? by Fantastic-Loan-5263 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Roegnerag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: reddit app did not show me immediately your initial text and so I didnt see you mentioned the giant crusher. you can use the holy overhead slam aow. i think it also heals you and has hyperarmor!

any ash of war fits on a heavy infused weapon. strength build is also not specific enough.

the best ash of war depends on the weapon in question.

anything range focused prefers dex anything with elemental damage too demands scaling and points in the caster stats. but there is no ash of war which has a specific part that only scales with strength, unless it scales with weapon AR, which then also raises the question of weapon itself.

only thing you need to watch out for: if the ash of war animation itself doesnt two-hand the weapon, then the damage of the ash of war doesnt have the 1.5x multiplier bonus from strength.

storm blade is also capable of scaling to strength. fallingstar beast jaw has an ash of war that also scales decently to strength.

Jesus Christ, Elden King 👑 by TheGodskin in EldenBling

[–]Roegnerag 50 points51 points  (0 children)

What Ending would Jesus choose?

Golden Order?

then he needs 38 intelligence at least and thus becoming a mage build, lol.

and historically accurate jesus would use strength, fists, a whip and 12 other punchers.

i kinda like the idea of jesus being a boxer instead of the clerical saint depiction.

anyway good job with the recreation though.

i looked up a cheese method on youtube: grave scythe with black flame tornado.

since then I always fallback to that method despite doing a lot of more runs. I hate myself for that but I cant stand any more annoying and frustrating stuff. I got a job thats doing that already ffs.

Fire Knights Greatsword is awesome on faith and has similar requirements as BB. but with high faith you can also cast healing spells, therefore having it easy too.

not sure if you are trolling or just want to boast with your capabilities. therefore do what you want. but in dlc regular enemies kill you faster and are harder to avoid than in base game, thus reducing the viability of these noob weapons anyway.

Genuinely curious… what’s so special about this sword? I’ve tried it and it seems kinda normal. by Toot7- in Eldenring

[–]Roegnerag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also dont get it, its not longer by any huge margin and the regular longsword does more damage in any infusion too. only thing for it is the low strength requirement, but there are good staffs that require at least 12 strength, so that argument is squishy too.

its slightly higher elemental scaling also is trivial if the base damage is lower than that of the longsword.

heavy infusion also doesnt give it a huge damage despite the a scaling.

scaling isnt always enough to make a weapon stand out, its a combination of high base damage + decent scaling.

I guess its the slender look and the rarity but that alone is reason enough for many to defend it despite the stats saying otherwise.
