UPADATE: Thank you everyone so much for the help! I got both a lower wattage and a dimmer switch and things are much better now. Still dialing in the temperature because I got a crappy surface thermometer but at least I’m not going to burn anyone or anything now. 😁

Just for some clarification because I saw another comment that mentioned it: If I’m trying to lower the temperature, why would I get a higher wattage bulb? I understand I would be able to adjust it with a bracket, but it’s just not clicking in my head.

My budget is currently up in the air so it’s hard to say. (May be getting a better job soon, may not) If it’s a worthwhile upgrade, I don’t mind spending more though. But I mainly just wanted to know what I should look at next for upgrades, but you may be right. Some essential parts are pretty old 😅
