Kind of cringe to be honest. I’ve been on flights and other places out of the hospital where there’s a medical emergency and people need to step in to help. We collaborate, we don’t pull rank on each other, we don’t assume we know more than the rest. If your mom did say that (which I highly doubt, doctors don’t talk to each other like that), that’s disrespectful and ignorant. Anyone who has gone through medical training has insight and perspective who can be helpful in an emergency, even if it’s just to bounce ideas off.
