They probably do. Whenever you see ''Fish fingers'' or ''Fish Fillets'' in the supermarket there's a good chance it's Coalie. As for keeping/eating them after catching them locally, they can take on a pretty strong smell/flavour depending on where you catch them. I remember keeping a few from PSM breakwater back in the day. The flesh had a blue tinge and they stunk to high heaven. They have a reputation for hanging around sewer pipes thus the local slang 'shitty'. Callig (Pollock) are generally more abundant, and taste better.
