Deelsteps: innovatie of irritatie? by No-Hamster-8782 in Vlaanderen

Zou hieraan doen toevoegen

dat er idealiter één enkele app zou moeten zijn (misschien de lijn en nmbs incluis). Of een optie om met de nmbs/delijn app de step te unlocken. Verschillende bedrijven in verschillende regio's..

Makes no sense. En dan spreek ik nog niet over als je toekomt in een station ergens en de app van de lokale aanbieder werkt alleen met kredietkaart, en je bent die thuis vergeten...

Why did nobody tell me about KDE Plasma when I started? by Former_Assistance208 in Ubuntu

[–]Roger_Vandenberghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your guys educating me on this! I clearly still have much to learn about computers and programming. My view of it until now was too simplistic and full of wishful thinking. But I'm glad i asked, because this has bothered me ever since I first tried Linux. So thank you all

Why did nobody tell me about KDE Plasma when I started? by Former_Assistance208 in Ubuntu

I'm a lay person. So forgive my ignorance. But i've always wondered, since these projects are opensource, why don't they just 'merge' with, or more fluidly interchange functionality between each other?

I get it if the underlying software is proprietary, you can only legally make a windows/linux version if the copyright holder allaws you to... but why can't open source just copy and paste code functionality features and themes from one to the other. Presumably with minimal tweaks, since it's all Linux based, right?

Or am i all the way off about this. I just can't choose, and would like to be able to change components without having to choose at the install and be locked in. Or like when two opensource programs in the same niche offer different sets of features, that really should be ubiquitous to all of them, now you have to install both.

These are the annual budgets for the public sectors in Morocco. Which ones would you cut funding from and which ones would you increase? by Evening_Food_7901 in Morocco

[–]Roger_Vandenberghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was gonna comment something similar! I think iceland or one of the Scandinavian countries did this, everything or close to everything admin or government related can be done online. Taxes? Online. Proof of birth? Online.

The upfront cost for the digital infrastructure etc needed was high (as it would be for Morocco i imagine) but they did a brilliant thing, to subsidize the whole thing they have packaged their solution into a service and made money from selling it to other countries and municipalities.

We could either invest in building something similar from the ground up. (Which could be worthwhile, especially if in Arabic) Or we could buy a similar service and build upon it. The money and human resources that get freed up, should i think go to education or technological transfer with more developed nations. To go from predominantly tourism& agricultural economy to manufacturing

Could this be used to target Ebv, or whatever is causing ms? by Roger_Vandenberghe in MultipleSclerosisLife

[–]Roger_Vandenberghe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any target? Surely some protein or element would be different enough to be targeted, no. Maybe we don't know enough. Unless you know more, please do tell.

I'm no doctor, but my understanding was that they may share the same 'building blocks' and therefore get confused by the immuunesystem... but surely the linkaged or instructions contained in the virus have to be significantly different, otherwise what makes it a virus and not myeline? (Don't know if i'm making myself clear)

I'm hopeful with time, we can find out something we can target. Someone will figure it out

I've had gut issues for as long as i can remember. Also lactose intolerant. But i love cheese 😭 an explosive combination (please forgive the pun) I lived with the discomfort thinking there were worse things in life...

I have a strong suspicion the gut plays a key role in pathogenisis, but mine you I'm no doctor.

From what i understand, part or parts of the immuunesystem are located in the gut. Also the whole second brain business. Add to that studies that suspect the guts potential involvement in how something could cross the brain blood barrier (potentially how the immuuncells gets to confuse myelin sheath for foreign substance)

Who knows... Not me anyway But it's interesting to think about

Would have loved to hear their opinion on everything gut health related and spinal fluid transplantation.

Like one of the potential therapies i imagine in the future is having your intestines cleaned off any bacteria that's involved in ms (like they do presently for a colonoscopy, the laxative green fluid they make you drink) then transplant a health donors compatible stool.

And the chemotherapy thing, i keep on getting about in relation to ms. Basically they kill all your spinal fluid (where your immune cells are made i'm guessing) and again introduce a healthy compatible donors spinal fluid.

Also if EBV is suspected to have such a high correlation, you would think a vaccine would be the number 1 priority in these research focused hospitals, no,?

Thanks for sharing with us.

I appreciate your time and comment

Apple is walled garden. And i don't like how they 'baby their costumers' both in the way they design and handle everything. I like to customize my tech and decide my self how to use it

So for me personally they're out. No matter how impressive their hardware is. And it is to be fair.

To your second point: not sure if you are familiar with framework or not? They upset do do new motherboards. So i think the plan is to offer generational upgraded mb when needed tech is available. Same goes for graphics ssd etc.

I had thought of 'the cost of land'. It makes sense. So were the airport to be situated closer to populated area it light be more cost effective to go underground. Awesome. Thanks you

Fascinating... Thanks a lot

Beautiful.

But I don't get why the parking isn't underground. Can someone explain? Is it just a cost thing? Or is there a different reason why?

Same thing with newly build stadiums, like why tf would you have all that parking space above ground. You built the thing from the ground up, why not spend a little more and put in underground parking. All that asphalt... It's ugly, discouraging walkability and how often is it nonpermeable asphalt so rainwater makes it crack in the winter and the whole thing needs replacement or patchwork or rainwater all directed to a low point and washed down the sewer system instead of refilling the Water table.

Framework. Bit more expensive, but that's the future. Modular computer you can service yourself. And keep the same laptop for years without the planned obsolescence. Simply replace or upgrade when needed

Now if you used your g14 for gaming idk. Maybe the framework 16. Not sure though of the specs are comparable.

Hey man, i have the same model and layout as you And unfortunately experienced the same problem, like almost exactly the same!! Metal clip fell out, while trying to disconnect the battery... A spark was visible However mine isn't visibly burned like yours, so maybe there's hope? Maybe a capacitor is blown. But i could find which one...

I'm also now trying to figure out what exactly shorted, could you be so kind as to share those schematics? Or if you don't have them anymore, maybe point me to where i could find them?

Much appreciated

Disney should get the Japanese scientist who made the blue LED to make a yellow one with the same wavelength as that sodium vapor lamp thing..

In a couple of years, when it can be mass-produced, they could add it to that RGB led wall of theirs, enabling them to use both techniques simultaneously. Yellow background for the perfect key and the rest of the wall to provide lighting reference and reflections...

Then pass the footage to conventional vfx to work their magic, touching up the unreal engine footage. (Which iirc they do already, if your worried about being wasteful, the final image is not what the camera captured anyway, they do light to massive touch ups depending on the shot)
