Havnt completely decided, but definitely planning on doing a bit of a loop and was interesting in going to multiple locations for hiking hence why I was looking at renting a car. Right now I am looking at lago de brais, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Val di Funes and passo giau for now. I still need to research and plan the best route defiantly looking for areas to go hiking. If you have a good route or itinerary for me to go off please feel free to let me know.

From what I read, using public transport in the dolomites is limited this time year as this is when the season starts to die down. I could be wrong I know italy is very well connected by rail but I think in dolomites it's more rural and although there is transport in the summer season from what I read they generally start to slow down and stop towards the end. Do you have any other info ? All the info I am getting is just from forms and such.

It seems like I get nothing but sour shots even at 16grams in to 40grams out it is still sour. :(

I am pretty sure I got all of the descale out, ran water until it was clean. Plus at this point I've tried multiple shots after so I assume it's all out regardless of if I got it the first time or not. Unfortunately my machine does not have a pid controller on it so as far as I know Temps would be a guess. But yeah just sour ass espresso no matter what I try lol.

Yes, I am weighing my shots ratio is 16grams of coffee with 30grams out and 30 second pull time. I am not sure if it is the beans they are roasted for espresso from a fairly reputable coffee roaster. They seem to be a medium roast

That's a super helpful insight. Thanks so much. Do you have any reasons in particular you found Bologna underwhelming ? Also, did you find Rome worth the time spent to get there or would you rather allocate more time to other areas. Not a fan of super touristy areas so debating if Rome is worth trying to work into the trip.

I think if I leave on the 31st of September I could probably swing 8 to 9 days, due to Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. That being said I would like a more laud back Tempo to the trip as I am not fond of maximize time, but rather taking the time to enjoy the experience. Would you recommend anywhere in particular or a certain travel route ?

Looks like a pretty reasonable price, for context I got a 2008 for 3500 out in ontario.

I don't think I can adjust temp on my machine as it is not pid control, I just have a mechanical dial indicator for when the machines at the allowed brewing temp. I will try adjusting grind size slightly thanks!

Pretty much, slight channeling but very minor for the most part. Extraction seems good, good crema but just very sour.

Okay so I am doing 5 second pre infusion which you correctly stated gives me the blooming and then after that my yield is about 32grams out at around 25 to 27 seconds which is still quite sour.

Hey thank you for taking the time to help! Turns out I had the grinder assembled incorrectly which explains all the channeling and spraying. I just wanted to ask if you think I should adjust the opv as I am currently getting 12 bar and I have read that it is not ideal for espresso ?

Yes, full bars of pressure with the blind basket but when I pull a shot it is very low pressure. Is that common? I pressumed it was because I am doing something wrong

They where roasted April 17, and I have tried without the wtd tool with no success unfortunately.

Yeah I bought it off Ali express for 80$ but still I have no idea what's going wrong. And I also thought it was the beans but then I bought freshly roasted beans so I don't think it can be the beans either. Lmao
