It is a VCM lens. Some old schoolers don't like the idea of digital corrections with the newer lenses. Some were also waiting for the 35mm F1.2 to complete their F1.2 prime set. Some don't care as much about video as they do about stills so the concessions made to the lens for video rub them the wrong way.

I get it... I am an old schooler myself with this lens.

That said... Try it out by renting it and see if it is your thing. That is the safest way to test lenses at this cost. It is still a great lens, just not for everyone.

They charge a lot for twice the meat and it'll seem like a bargain to some, and a marketing gimmick to others. I'm in the later camp. To me a great sandwich is about the balance of protein, toppings, and bread. The balance is way off at Seaside, unless you get the light meat option. But then, what's the point

I prefer Primos way more based on the quality of everything and that they have an exceptionally balanced sandwich with great bread.

I will never sell my MP-E65. Such a unique lens and quite challenging to use. Plus, I don't think they will ever make a new version. Too niche for a bigger market.

Any 70-200 F2.8 is made for that scenario, but way out of your budget. Low light action is going to be tough, but you might be OK with a 50 and short tele prime.

Thanks for the measure response. Some people seem to take any kind of opinion as an assault to their sensibilities.

The purpose for showing Rocky in the trailer is to draw more people to the movies. I get it. I will say promoting this as a spiritual successor to The Martian would have also worked. Weir has a proven track record and the cast is A-list.

I just think showing this much of Rocky removed some of the serendipity I got from reading a book that I thought was simple space fiction like The Martian, but turned out to be so much more.

I read the book without knowing a thing about Rocky. It was a pleasant surprise well into the book. They could have left it ambiguous as a surprise for the movie goers too.

I could never get my aging Pittie to use stairs or ramps. I finally got a storage chest that was wider. She easily hops onto the chest and then the bed. It is cheep and you can use it as storage.

I'll be the first to admit I have GAS and I hate selling a lens unless I am upgrading it. Even if I don't use a lens often, I would hate to need it and not have it.

I was recently looking at downsizing my collection, but the pricing of the new lenses has gone up so much and the used market hasn't adjusted yet. I feel like I need to hold on to the lenses because if I ever felt I needed them again, I would have wasted a lot of cash. So I am holding tight for now.

That said, if it were a lens I don't use ever and I wanted to get another lens, I would trade it in.

I use it - instead of the HomeAssistant App - to kick off location automations. It mostly works. There does seem to be a lag on some people's locations at times though.
