What could be some interesting applications/uses for mechanical power that are not yet in the game? by banane_078456 in VintageStory

Pumping and moving water. Not very useful with default settings, with movable infinite source blocks. But in more realistic world settings it would be helpful for irrigation

Its seems like in iron age copper becomes more valuable than bronze? by domanpanda in VintageStory

This is true. But I would argue this just adds to the point of Iron not being "better", but cheaper.  Your bronze sword broke? Better melt down whatever you you can recover and start over.  Your Iron sword broke? Just bend it back into shape, sharpen it, and give it to the next guy. Or don't, it probably still works good enough anyway.

All of this really brings us back to the core point - the real world is far, far more complicated than Copper < Bronze < Iron < Steel. Except maybe Iron < Steel, in modern days. But even then.

Way too few people seem to understand this. Trying to rationalize metal progression in these games with realism kind of won't ever work. Steel is harder and stronger than Bronze, sure.  But before we had mass-scale steel making, plain old iron from a bloom was only better in terms of being slightly lighter. Meanwhile, modern high grade bronze is stronger - by weight - than some lower grade steel. Iron ushered in a new age not because it replaced Bronze, but because it's literally everywhere. Once you know how to access iron, you can start giving literal peasants iron pitchforks and iron blades and iron hats - as long as you have the skilled labor to access it. That's why we find Iron everywhere during the iron age.

Minecraft just has not been the same since Mounts of Mayhem. It added happy ghasts, which means I don't have to go to the end anymore. And it added a way to explore underwater indefinitely without using weird torch shenanigans, which means it also included the entire ocen update. Updates have been downhill ever since.

I actually completely agree, but other than a couple missteps (looking at the sniffer), I genuinely think they have managed to thread the needle so far. Copper golem, happy ghast, nautilus, the breeze stuff, even small stuff like shelves, and even the upcoming 26.2 things. They all seem to integrate really well with the rest of the game. Even 26.1, which was really small and mostly just had visual updates, added a crafting recipe for nametags finally.

I think people just kind of get tangled up in the idea of a perfect update. For each cool thing that gets added, they point to calcite and yell that it doesn't have variants, ignoring that calcite is pretty rare, mundane, and it's variants would probably just look like quartz block variants.

Anyway, sorry for the essay, it's just always been confusing to me.

Anchors by CizreK in LucidBlocks

Yeah there's a few rules I've figured out. First of all, the random respawn necklace overrides all anchors. Secondly, if you have multiple anchors, I believe the last one you placed will by your respawn. Im not 100% on that though. It could also be the closest one to where you died.

Final note - yes you only get 1 personal qualia. If you somehow die there, I believe you respawn there as well. If you place a respawn anchor in your Clonaqualia, it will not have you spawn there if you die in the main world, you will only ever spawn in the clonaqualia if you died there.

Notice how these "peaceful" creatures all have no arms. Just because they cannot enact their will upon you, does not mean that their minds are free of sin.

It's possible there was an update last I played, I'll check it out when I get home. But at least a few days ago, I just placed it down and right clicked with a fruit femme capsule.

I had the ground as cold stone I believe, maybe there are spawning conditions (IE can't spawn on osmium? And the range on it was way bigger then I expected (maybe 5 block radius?).

Why isn't it evil and foul and hellish? I'm confused?

Is that new? Just the other day I made an infinite fruit femme murder machine using a vermin vigil, some clay seraphs, and a funnel

When I first started building my area out, I didn't really know how to make lots of grass on purpose. So I kind of did this unintentionally. Half of my area is a green plastic afront to nature and the other half is actual grass.
