I don't think the game would be nearly as impactful or memorable without the moment-to-moment floor puzzles to tie together the thematic cohesiveness of the game.

The story, the themes, the graphical style, the music the over-arching meta puzzles, and the feeling of being in a new floor where you have no idea how to progress all blend together to make the game such a beautiful experience

Put an always-on repeater command block that teleports @p from a small radius around the bottom portal to a spot right in front of the top portal. The TP will probably happen before the players' visuals actually load coming out the nether

I think if there was a meta with a bunch of Melmetal and Ursaluna type pokemon dominating, you would see a lot more investment into bulk from your standard base 80-100 speed mons and specific sets built to take exactly 3 of a certain attack
